UFC Heavyweight champion Junior "Cigano" dos Santos and the challenger Frank Mir went face-to-face on FOX Sports, as part of their promotional activity ahead of this weekend's UFC 146 fight card in Las Vegas, Nevada.

JDS and Mir discussed their expectations from the fight, and some of the trash talk moments during the build-up for the fight. Dos Santos explained his "Frank Mir is not a man" comments, claiming that the former two-time UFC Heavyweight champ is always struggling to overcome difficulties during the fight. As far as predictions go, Frank Mir promised a submission victory in Round 1, while Junior dos Santos asked for a 2nd round KO victory.

Frank Mir:

"Basically, you have to go and fight him. The fact that I'm a south paw, the way I'm gonna try maneuver and work -- I have ideas to try and nullify his jab. We can all gameplan and work out all these different contingency plans, but lose the fight night when we start throwing down leather. We'll see what happens. Obviously, I predict that I win by submission. Early first round."

I love MMA but this is too obvious a "face-off with Max Kellerman" knockoff. Just wish UFC would have come with a original idea. Plus the dude in the middle keeps interrupting the guys.

    Agree.

I think JDS is very mad at Mir for beating Nog,because its the first time that he talks a little bit shit about his opponent (saying that Mir isnt a man and has no heart)

Agreed.....that guy was a mucking fuppet. I don't mind the interview format, just get a different guy to conduct it. Interrupting a person that you just asked a question to is rude in normal life......it's stupid when it's a 6'4", 265lb elite level fighter who has been training for months and hasn't seen or enjoyed his family during that time. Try biting a fish out of a hungry alligator's mouth and see what he does, Mark Kriegel, ya dumbass.

At the end of the JDS and Mir's fight, one of two things will happen. Frank Mir will either retire after a brutal loss or he will receive his gatekeeper certificate in the UFC HW division. Congrats, Frank.

    Way to copy HBO, guys.

Cringe-worthy interview. Not a fan of this face-to-face format. Starts making things anti-climactic in my opinion, unless the opponents really dislike each other.

Early first round sub - ok that is possible but not very likelly - JDS will be still too explosive to be controled - I would go more like championship rounds sub - anyway when this fight was announced people did not even know how come Frank could step in the octagon with JDS - now the fight seems so even - cudos to UFC hype machine - self fulfiling profecy anyone? Hope not.

I like this kind of face off... Yet way behind boxing face off, with Max Kellerman..... The UFC should have Rogan doing this.... Best Of Luck To Frank Mir....

I liked that format as well - like everyone else though I don't like the interviewer; particularly the interruptions, but also pronouncing the name of Noguiera, one of the greatest MMA fighters of all time, wrong.

I felt that his bluntness and and the format produced a lot of tension, which is what most people want to see between two fighters especially in a title fight.

It was interesting seeing Junior put on the spot about his comments against Mir, and it was also interesting seeing Mir's response.

I was waiting for both of them to smack that douchebag. I liked JDS before he said Mir wasnt a man. Thats just rude as hell. Mir never said anything rude like that. I now hope Mir takes his leg home with him. Mir was very calm and controlling during that interview, respect.

If they were going for awkward and antagonistic then they nailed it. I have a lot of respect for both of these fighters they acted like true professionals. What a creepy Wwe interview attempt....

I know it's already been said but I felt it so strongly I had to sign just to say. That interviewer is repulsive. He's lucky JDS didn't give him a backhand and show him from ****ing time it was.
