In a video courtesy of MMA30tv.com, several MMA fighters talk about their views concerning Carlos Condit waiting to fight Georges St Pierre for the UFC Welterweight belt. The responses from fighters such as Cain Velasquez, Roy Nelson, Urijah Faber, and Dominick Cruz mostly don't see anything wrong with Condit waiting. The consensus seems to be that Condit has earned his shot at the long-time titleholder and can wait if he wants. When asked about who will win, many believe GSP will come back strong and use his wrestling to win the fight.

Doesn't matter. GSP + ring rust still = Win for GSP no matter how you do the math

He sure is taking his time though..

Not sure if this is fair. I think he shld be stripped from his title and get an immediate chance to regain it after recovery.

Whats the point of an interim champ if the belt is left undefended for a year or more. Condit should be fighting the #2 contender this summer

I'm a Diaz fan but I'm tired of hearing people say that he beat Condit. Carlos was backing up the whole fight but he was landing a high volume of counter strikes and combinations while not taking damage. With that being said, if GSP comes back as strong as he was, I give him the victory over Condit.

GSP might have some ring rust, but Condit will probably have some himself after taking a long break.

I understand not wanting to miss out on a title shot for the real belt, but I think a more confident fighter were have chosen to stay active.

I could see Condit get "Rashaded" on this one and getting injured himself before the fight.

....you promise a guy a title shot and then it creates a massive backlog of potential title contenders when the champion is out injured. Suddenly you have two fighters out not one.

Condit deserves a titleshot, however, the UFC shouldn't promise title shots when guys are out for such a long time.

Fighters should stay active and whoever is top dog on GSP's return should be the guy offered the shot. Condit could be out for a year before GSP returns.

Noone knows the exact date, anything can happen

Ya lets have 2 welterweight belts not being defended. Thats what the fans want to see.

Guys are getting hurt like crazy just training lately. Not like he has much to lose taking a fight and earning more real experience. I mean if you want the belt you need to be prepared to fight the best anyway so stop sitting on the shelf.
