Fight Night 25: Erik Koch edges Jonathan Brookins via Unanimous Decision
Posted on September 17, 2011, 09:22 PM by Anton GurevichWEC prodigy Erik Koch improved his winning streak inside the Octagon with a victory over TUF 13 winner Jonathan Brookins. Koch defended 95% percent of Brookin's takedown attempts, in what was his second appearance under the Ultimate Fighting Championship Banner.
Jonathan Brookins controlled the pace in Round 1, thanks to perfect distance management and dirty boxing at the fence that prevented from Erik Koch to execute his striking gameplan. Koch picked up the pace in Round 2, but Brookins was still able to stall the action with more takedown attempts and clinch work. Round 3 was the same for Jonathan Brookins, but Koch managed to keep the striking-clinch balance to his favor, what eventually ensured his victory in this bout.
Erik "New Breed" Koch is now 13-1 in his MMA campaign.

A pleasant surprise with a good decision.
Brookins was press and praying--Koch deserved to win.
Bullshit decision.. real talk!
I honestly feel asleep during the second round but from what I saw Brookins definitely won rnd1...... how could a judge give him the first
I liked that they gave some love to striking but I honestly thought Brookins took it since he was dishing out strikes and had better control and position in most of the fight.
and Koch missed A LOT !! half of what he was throwing did not land...
Last night's fight shows how much I hate Brookins, what a freaking moron!!!!!!!!
