According to MMAFighting.com, Fabricio Werdum's next fight inside the Octagon will be against no other than Mike Russow. The fight is expected to take place at UFC 147 in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, which will be headlined by the long-anticipated UFC Middleweight title rematch between Chael Sonnen and Anderson Silva.
UFC 147 will also feature the battle between TUF: Brazil coaches Vitor Belfort and Wanderlei "The Axe Murderer" Silva.
Russow is currently 4-0 in his UFC campaign, and 15-1 overall in Mixed Martial Arts. In his most recent bout, Russow defeated Jon-Olav Einemo via Decision, setting himself on a collision course with a top-tier Heavyweight in Fabricio Werdum. Speaking about the Brazilian, Werdum managed to impress against Roy Nelson, and will be looking to make a title hunt statement with a convincing performance against Russow.
The fight between Mike Russow (ranked 10th at Heavyweight) and Fabricio Werdum (4th) is one of the few recently announced Top 10 Heavyweight match-ups. First, it will be Josh Barnett (6) facing Daniel Cormier in the Strikeforce Heavyweight GP Final on May 19th in San Jose, California, then, at UFC 146 on May 26th Junior dos Santos (1) puts his title on the line against Alistair Overeem (2). Same card includes the long-anticipated encounter between Frank Mir (3) and Cain Velasquez (4), as well as Antonio Silva (9) vs. Roy Nelson (NR). The ony Top 10 Heavyweight currently (recovering from injury) waiting to learn the identity of his opponent is Shane "The Engineer" Carwin.

Easy win for Fabricio
Probably...he is definitely better on the ground and on the feet...but Russow always has the proverbial punchers chance because of his power.
Mike Russow ranked 10th??!!!! I wonder who does these rankings? That's arbitrary. We haven't seen against against any top heavyweight yet to be able to rank him in the first place...
Pointless fight, Russow is a big step down after Nelson I think
Same could be said about Overeem back then. But people kinda just knew he belonged.
But this fight will probably be Werdum/Nelson all over again. but Russow has better wrestling. Dont know if he will get Werdum down though
Not that Russow is anywhere like Overeem....Russow barely is 10, maybe 11 (after Mark Hunt)
people didnt just know he belonged, he was destroying cro cop before the nut shot when crop cop was closer to prime then in the ufc, he destroyed rodgers, smashe buentellos shortly after beuntello fought for the ufc title won a k-1 title had dream and strikeforece, comparing russow to overeem, only a zuffa zombie would do that
Step back for Fabricio if you ask me,someone like Mark Hunt woulda made more sense, maybe Struve, but Russow? don't think so!
I like Russow cuz he's got this old school rocky vibe about him. However, I do think Werdum should get a higher ranked opponent. Mike has got some power in his hands, But Fabricio has shown some pretty good stand up as of late.
how aobut russow vs travis brown, fabrico never should have taken this fight
Mike who ? Huge step back after Nelson. A fight against Mir would have been epic but i can't complain, Mir's fighting Velasquez and that will be a hell of a fight as well so...
WTF? Huge step down for Werdum. He should be fighting top 5, not top 50.
