Werdum expresses gratitude for those who played a role in his return to the promotion, and says that his victory over Fedor Emelianenko was likely what led to the invitation.

Fabricio Werdum

"I think that (Twitter campaign) was very important. They helped me a lot, all of my fans, so I'd like to thank them. Of course, it was not only that which brought me back to the UFC. My training, I was training (when they called), when they offer me any fight, I'll be ready to fight."

It must have been his win against Fedor, because it sure wasn't his loss to Overeem that got him through the gate!

I would say ,It is his "LUCK" againt My man Fedor ,that was the key for his UFC return. lol Werdum is a cool and lucky guy though. Hopefully he will be lucky enough to avoid being KO'ed against Nelson.

Correction, his defeat of Fedor was key to his slight relevance in the sport.

Yeah because a guy who has wins over Gonzaga, Overeem and Big Foot is irrelevant.

I sure Werdum is right, defeating Fedor put him on the good side of Dana White without a doubt.

Probably the biggest reason Werdum got into the UFC is the lack of depth in the UFC HW division without the fresh infusion of Strikeforce HWs. The UFC HW division looks fantastic now with Overeem, and Werdum--and hopefully Josh Barnett, Cormier and Bigfoot. I would even like to see Kharitonov and Arlovski, not because I believe they have a good chance at the title, but because they are decent HWs and fill out the mid-tier nicely.

JDS, Velasquez, Overeem, Lesnar, Carwin, Mir, Cormier, Barnett, Bigfoot, Werdum, Big Nog, Kharitonov, Arlovski and many more.

The bottom line is that the UFC HW division will have depth, and numerous matchups to thrill fight fans. The UFC is now capable of having a great HW match on every card. In addition, the UFC will have a complete lock on the HW division worldwide.

I dont think Barnett will go to the ufc...He doesnt like Dana, and Dana dont like him. Barnett has a better chance of fighting with M1 Global...lol

It depends if mentally Dana can put more money in his left hand than he can hold of hate in the right hand.

I'm very excited to see Fabricio back in the UFC. He's certainly paid his dues since his last UFC stint and I think he can really make an impact this time around in the HW division.
