Donald Cerrone vs. Yves Edwards set for May 15 fight card

The May 15 UFC event, scheduled for the Patriot Center in Fairfax, VA, has picked up another fight, Donald Cerrone versus Yves Edwards.  The fight was announced on Tuesday’s edition of “UFC Tonight,” which airs on Fuel TV.

Cerrone had a fantastic 2011, going 4-1 over the course of the year and earning four “Fight Night” bonuses in those five fights. Cerrone’s four wins came over Paul Kelly, Vagner Rocha, Charles Oliveira and Dennis Siver. His sole loss, the first in six fights came at the hands of Nate Diaz.

For his part Edwards fought four times in 2011, going 2-2, picking up victories over Cody McKenzie and Rafaello Oliveira, while suffering defeat to Sam Stout and Tony Ferguson.

At this time the only other fight mentioned for the card is a middleweight bout between Tom Lawlor and Jason MacDonald.  A rematch between Thiago Silva and Brandon Vera had been set, by Vera was forced to withdraw due to injury.

    Cerrone didn't fight quite at his best but he certainly still brought it and gave us a great fight. More than anything else he lost because Nate fought awesomely well.

    I think Cerrone will get right back on track with this one and finish Edwards, probably 2nd round sub or TKO.

    I bet Cerrone has been spending all his time training his boxing.Just a little better boxing and Cerrone is a complete package.

    i think cerrone is by far the best lightweight, no1 can stand with him and its proven. I think he should go up to WW with his 6 foot frame and he would be the next on too take out GSP, and with ease. WAR cerrone
