Following his victory over Brian Bowles at UFC 139, Urijah Faber let it be known that he wanted to be considered for one of the coaching positions on the 15th season of “The Ultimate Fighter.” His preference for the opposing coach, none other than UFC Bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz.

On Tuesday, December 6, Faber was given his wish as the UFC announced that he and Cruz would indeed coach the upcoming season of “TUF,” which debuts on March 9 on FX.

The 15th season of “TUF” will feature a new format where the fights that end each episode will be televised live as they happen.  UFC President Dana White had the following to say about the shows first season on FX, “We’re producing ground-breaking television with The Ultimate Fighter LIVE and we can’t wait to kick this season off with FX in March. “It’s going to be can’t-miss TV. Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber are two incredible personalities who also happen to be two of the best fighters in the world. They genuinely dislike each other and I expect this to make for the best season yet.” – for more see UFC.com

What do you think LowKick'ers, where will this season rank among in the history of "TUF?

Excited to see these guys fight again, 2nd fight was one of the best fights of the year also, I think Faber can win the fight and also excited to see the new live TUF, wont have to wait like 4 months to see wat happened and another few months after to see the coaches fight, so glad that TUF wont keep the coaches out for like most the yr anymore

Agree. I also hope they do the lighter weight classes again. Not only because they need the depth at the lower weights (flyweight too), but also because it would be odd seeing Faber and Cruz coaching Light Heavyweights lol

Noooooo... I think it's official: i won't be watching this. I mean i love Cruz and i like Urijah but man... They fought twice already and not too long ago, nobody's SUPER excited to see this fight again. Not enough hype behind it either... Plus since they're small, they will probably be coaching midgets again and that doesn't excite me. I want HW again, or LHW !

I agree with you on everything. This match is too soon and I want to see a HW or LHW ultimate fighter. We just had a small guy season lets see

a TUF showcasing some of the bigger guys.

I'm also usually less excited to watch smaller weight classes... nothin wrong with that.

BUT... we don't know that Urijah and Dom will be coaching Bantamweights. The coaches are usually different weight classes. They probably won't be too far off though, I'm guessing.

I hope they freshen the format up a bit. The Bisping vs Miller season had a lot going for it but I still found it difficult to get myself into it for some reason.

Poor Faber, can't bang with Aldo as Champ so he drops a class, is struggling to bang with Cruz. If Cruz stomps him out again, Faber is going to have to pray Dana opens a Babyweight division so Mr. Faber can try and be Champion there.

Interesting, Faber wins one fight after losing the title and gets another title shot, yet Sonnen does not, hmmmmmmmmm......

A least we get to see Cruz teach his monkey dance to a bunch of newcomers.

These guys should've coached the cast from last season. I'd like to know what the weight class will be for this season.

I dont see why everyone is complaining about this matchup? should have been this past one but whatever. the fight makes sense because it was a great fight last time one of the best of the year.!! and there is not that many fighters that will challenge him in that division. so why not give it to faber who is well known and will be good at talking on the show

This is exciting, drawing out the hype for the fight by putting them as coaches live. I just hope there is no fake drama like in the last season. The coaches rivalry seemed too fake.
