The #1 reason for immediate rematches is FANS' DEMAND. After seeing this fight I'm sure lots of fans, including me, want a rematch. If Anderson can pull another win then there's no question about his reign.
Fan demand isn't always the way to go. Sonnen should have another fight at least or else if it happens that AS loses next fight by a hair will there be a 3rd rematch holding off others trying to climb up? Just like it is questionable that, despite his recent wins outside the UFC, is it fair that Vitor fights for the Middleweight title? Vitor should really have to fight and beat Nate or Damien to get his deserved title shot.
As for an immediate rematch between Chael and Anderson, I'm all for it. That was one of the most exciting fights this year and deserves and encore. Aside from his submission loses years ago, no other MMA competitor has ever pushed Anderson that hard where he basically had to do a 'hail marry' submission to win.
