Dennis Siver eyes a move down to Featherweight in 2012

"Former lightweight contender Dennis Siver is planning a move to featherweight in 2012, sources close to the fighter confirmed with MMAFighting.com. No word just yet on when the German fighter will make his debut in the 145-pound weight class."
The Russian-German fighter is currently 19-8 in his Mixed Martial Arts campaign, making his Ultimate Fighting Championship debut back at UFC 70. Since then, Siver went 9-5 inside the Octagon. Siver's notable victories are ove George Sotiropoulos, Matt Wiman and Paul Kelly. Nicknamed "The Menace", 5ft-7 Dennis Siver won four bonuses in the UFC; one Fight of the Night (Ross Pearson), one Submission of the Night (Andre Winner), and two KO of the Night (Paul Kelly, Nate Mohr).
Siver follows the footsteps of Kenny Florian and Tyson Griffin, who made their move down to 145 during 2011. The identity of Dennis Siver's first Featherweight opponent is yet to be revealed.

very smart move.. could rack up some wins.. however i still think he may lose to the elite of the division such as the top five like the lightweights
its tuff to be 5'6 in the LW div, FW would suit him much better.

Cutting to a lighter weight would make him faster
i like the guy, and i think he could make waves at his new weight. his victory over sotiropolous was very impressive
i read in the UG that he's not 5'7"...more like 5'5". If thats the case (ufc tends to exaggerate in fighters numbers) then FW suits perfectly to Siver
Unless you like getting hit from your corner, its a good mobe for Dennis, hes so damn short. Poor 200lb guys that are 5 ft tall lol
Dude would be a massive FW. This could be a good move for the guy.
