Demian Maia outpoints Mario Miranda in a clean Unanimous Decision victory
Posted on August 28, 2010, 10:51 PM by Anton GurevichBrazilian Jiu-Jitsu maverick Demian Maia bounced back from his defeat against Anderson Silva at UFC 112, with a dominant Unanimous Decision victory against Mario Miranda at UFC 118. Maia perfectly executed his gameplan by taking down Miranda and unleashing submission attempts at the fellow Brazilian.
Miranda was forced to defend Maia's submission attempts throughout the fight, and he did it well. But Demian Maia was by far more aggressive than his opponent, leaving judges to choice but to score the fight in a clean 30-27 Unanimous Decision.
Unlike Patrick Cote, James Irvin and Thales Leites, Demian Maia managed to secure a victory after his defeat against "The Spider" Anderson Silva. Maia's victory serves well for the potential UFC Middleweight match-ups, as a fight against Chris Leben looks like the most intriguing option for Demian Maia.

i found it pretty entertaining, not the greatest fight but it was decent. Maybe Maia couldnt sink the submission cuz hes focusing on his stand up more. Stand up looked pretty good this fight, hes getting much better
Maia would probably sub Leben i would rather see Maia against Belfort
yeah, ask fedor.
Those who thought this fight was boring, are not MMA fans... I think there are people who like the sport, and there are people who are the "highlightreel-fans"...
The grappling skills of Demian are sooo exciting!! Can't wait to see more of him!!
