“I think I’m gonna be able to succeed (against Dominick Cruz) where everybody else has faltered when they fight him. Everybody gets hypnotized by him when he does all his movement and I’m gonna have hopefully the technique and the ability where Urijah Faber faltered and he wasn’t on him all the time or where Brian Bowles didn’t have the speed to keep up with him. I think I have the attributes and the ability to give Dominick Cruz one hell of a fight. … I can’t wait for that fight. I think we’ve got his number this time and it’s gonna be an awesome fight.” – For complete interview with Demetrious Johnson, visit MMAMania.com
Currently riding the momentum of a four-fight winning streak, which includes octagon victorious over Miguel Torres and “Kid” Yamamoto, Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson will look to dethrone reigning Bantamweight Champion Dominick Cruz this Saturday night in the UFC on Versus 6 headlining bout. The clash will mark Cruz’s fourth consecutive defense of the title since capturing the belt with a TKO victory over Brian Bowles at WEC 47. In the time since, the champ has bested such contenders as Joseph Benavidez, Scott Jorgensen, and most recently Urijah Faber.
While “The Dominator’s” unorthodox style and quick footwork appeared to leave all previous contenders scratching their heads, Johnson believes he’s the man holding the correct pieces of the puzzle. So what do you think LowKick’ers? Does “Mighty Mouse” have what it takes to succeed where all others have faltered or will Dominick “Cruz” to another lopsided victory?
