Dana White tells exactly how he feels about M-1, Fedor and the Silva vs GSP match-up

After years of trying, it looks like UFC President Dana White has accepted defeat, and wont ever sign Fedor Emilianenko. Despite White going from being highly complinetary to highly critical of the Russian legend, it seems fans will be the biggest party to suffer, as it is no secret how highly desired Fedor would be in the UFC.

White also answered questions on a possible Anderson Silva vs Georges St. Pierre match up, stating that he considers Anderson Silva "too big" for the natural 170-pounder Georges St. Pierre. Anderson Silva will defend his title against Chael Sonnen at UFC 117, as GSP will fight the TUF 12 rival coach Josh Koscheck probably in December.

Dana just being Dana the problem is Fedor management M1 global make a lot of money off Fedor and Fedor seems tied to them. They are clearly not interested in seeing Fedor fighting in the UFC. This whole co promotion thing M1 want is a joke too plus look how long it takes for them just to agree to fights with Strikeforce i'm inclined to believe Dana when he says these guys are crazy lunatics who don't want to do a deal

    Were you listening?!

    ON his kids lives!

Scrape the gunk out of your ears and you have to realize Fedor won't do it because he is afraid of having his reputation smashed. If there is another logical answer than I won't to know but if you can't give me one than I am right

Fedor has never been afarid of anyhting

You internet nerds need to understand business.

Fedor is just a fighter, and does what his management tells him to.

He did not become a coward all of a sudden when Pride went under.

His management doesn't want him fighting in the UFC for their own reasons, but it doesn't mean that if Brock, Cain and JDS moved to Strikeforce he wouldn't fight them.

What you dumbasses are doing is simply repeating the words of Dana White and make it sound like you have an opinion.

Try to think for a change.

I'm not so sure about your comments about Fedors management.

How could you say Brock, Cain or JDS would fight Fedor, when his management isnt letting him fight Overeem?

Their reason of "Overeem using steroids"... do you really think they would not pull the same thing on Brock if he was in SF? Especially considering how Brock has a past in WWE - a company KNOWN for their wrestlers using steroids?

He flew all the way across the world to get this deal done and Fedor turned it down. HE IS SCARED!

He always wants to be known as "the best" and if he fights in the UFC he will have a challenge and he doesn't want his reputation ruined. HE is afraid. People want to see him fight the best compitetion and that is definetly not in SF

I don't blame Fedor for this and I don't blame the UFC, and I am also a big fan of both. This is not about money it's about power (co-promotion), and the UFC is not about to co-promote with Fedor or his company. If the UFC was much smaller I could see this happening, but they are much to large a company to even consider it, and no-one with any business sense would blame them. I'm sure the UFC threw a boat load of money at Fedor to try to get him on board. The fans lose ultimately, because I honestly would love to see Fedor vs. Carwin, Lesnar, Cain, or JDS, just to name a few, and I'm sure most here would love it also.

When you have a guy on pretty much his hands and knees begging you to believe that he has done what he's done and swears on his kids lives he has to be telling the truth. You can't say he is lying or you are truly a stubborn person. Fedor didn't want to fight in the UFC. People blame his management and that was a factor but it is also the fighters choice where he wants to fight

Its funny to me how people will twist things around to avoid facing the facts... "He has to do better than that.... There is no way that is true, period" Hahahaha WHY NOT? Cause that makes u sad? Why does Dana need to toss business smarts to the side for fans? WHY? Most normal fans are very please with the UFC the majority of the time without them making some kind stupid move like that... I can see desperate, upstart companies, who are struggling for relevancy doing stupid shit like that, but not a company thats already established as the NFL of MMA.... Thats like the NFL co-promoting with some no-name football organization because there are fans out there that think this leagues champions can beat the NFL's Superbowl champs... WHY would they do that or care?? The guy made an excellent point... There is a certain group of mma "fans" that like to pretend that Dana is doing something evil and treats fighters so terribly, then WHY does he have 95% of the top talent in mma? Why do they continuously resign deals? WHY? Thats the question of the day for you guys.... WHY????

Not only does UFC have 95% of the best fighters. The majority of top talent outside the UFC is either fighting their way u the ranks and will be signed to UFC soon or has been kicked out of UFC for their poor behavior inside or outside the ring. Boxing co-promotes and look what has happened that sport. 4 or 5 belts in each weight class. The titles are rarely unified and the fights you want to see take years to come about. If they ever happen. Dana's doing the write thing by not co-promoting. If Fedor doesn't fight for UFC at this point it will tarnish his legacy for a lot of fans. But it won't hurt UFC they will just go about business as usual. Putting on the best fights with the best fighters.

Why? Because they have the most eyeballs and the best marketing. Bands and artists will all tell you record companies are f'ing leeches yet they will all sign a deal if they can. Why? Because it's the only way to get famous. UFC is the best chance to get famous. Doesn't mean they're the nicest fairest guys. Just ask Couture, Hendo, Rampage, etc.

I agree that the UFC will do just fine without Fedor though. They'll just never get rid of the Fedor legacy that way, which is what Dana would realy like most I think.

It's common for people to have problems with their bosses or management.

One thing is for sure though whether most people want to admit it or not - UFC is definately the most professional MMA promotion out there right now. That fact cant really be argued.

I do believe that Dana has made a great effort to sign this fighter, but i also believe he wanted to own too much of Fedor in the process. Fedor has a point about Dana's respect for his own fighters as look at how he treated several who have different opinion. He wouldn't even allow Randy to fight Fedor yet accuses Fedor of ducking the best, yet wouldn't allow Fedor to fight Randy when Randy was one of the best.

I don't for a single second believe Fedor is scared or protecting record. He says he doesn't believe he is the best and is very humble. His personality is totally wrong for someone like the person Dana makes him out to be. I do believe his management may have that agenda on their minds and want to maximise profit of their golden goose though.

I do believe this however, either Fedor will soon retire or we will see him in UFC. There does not remain many legit challenges outside of UFC so there is little point in resigning with strikeforce.

I wouldn't mind seeing him take Batista to school though.

Dana says there is no way to sign Fedor. Where there's a will, there's a way. Dana just has to much pride and doesn't want to look like a bitch for getting the short end of the stick if the Fedor deal actually went through. Fedor does not fear anyone and he would be happy to fight anybody in the HW division in the ufc. Dana is letting greed get the best of him and because of that, the whole mma world suffers...

    Seriously?

Dana runs the largest and most successful MMA promotion. He knows the value of Fedor, he would have negotiated a price and offered the deal. He has stated he offered more than he has offered anyone. He pays Brock enough to buy small countries.

How often do you hear Fedor claiming the deal was not good enough? Or M1? Listen to the last few interviews with Coker - does he sound like he is not being bent over a table and rammed with new conditions on each and every fight?

Dana could NEVER get the short end of the stick by signing Fedor, he would get a lot more peace and quiet from nobodies on forums that think they could do a better job.

Anderson would murder GSP...why doesn't GSP grow a pair and move up? Anderson is the most dominant fighter in the UFC, holds a title and still moves up and dominates in another weight class. If GSP is so good why can't he do the same?

Maybe because he is near his natural size and realistically would get killed by Silva. If he moves up it would ONLY be to fight Silva, and he knows exactly what happened to Penn.

Penn's ego got the best of him and he landed in a new weight class and learned a valuable lesson. Since GSP was dishing out that lesson he doesn't need to learn it.

Silva has also called out his intention to fight heavyweight, maybe GSP should move up and take on Lesnar as well?

Size has nothing to do with it. It is a matter of skill. I have seen 145 pounders take first in NAGA's absolute division. It is rare but it happens. IF GSP is afraid to move up it is because he does not feel that he has the skill to get Silva to the ground. Alves is almost as big (wt not height) as Silva and is a lot stronger. GSP dominated him.

Im guessing 10 million he said they were wanting to stop at 7 million, and Lorenzo let him offer more still to no avail. If your one of the guys who said he knows how much Dana offered, then your full of crap.

God, some of these Fedor fans will just not accept the facts, it's as plain as day, Dana has signed almost every top fighter without any problem, but what, is Fedor a special case? The guy had his chance to fight the best and silence his critics and he didn't take it. It's obvious that the UFC do go out of their way to sign top fighters as soon as they become eligable, and do what they have to to attain them but Fedor is simply unattainable. We all know that for any fighter who really wants to test themselves against the best fighters in the world there's only one place to go and it definately isn't SF. I can't believe that people can't see it for what it is..........

If you are a reall MMA and not just a UFC fan, then you know what makes Fedor so great! He's doesn't need to come to the UFC to prove himself, he's already proven himself!! The man has 32 wins and only 1 loss. The one loss he has happened 10 years ago when he was just starting out and he later avenged that loss by BRUTAL knockout! 25 of those 32 wins have been by KO, TKO, or SUB. He's the WAMMA HW Champ, Pride HW Champ, Pride Grand Prix Champ, 2 Time Rings HW Champ, 12 Sambo Champ, Former Judo Champ....it would take forever to list all of his accomplishments!!

All this talk about "who has he beaten?" is just ignorant, UFC biased, rambling! Well, here's a short list of who he's beaten....

Bret Rogers: When he faced Fedor he was ranked in the HW Top 10 (#7 to be exact), was undefeated and had KO all of his opponents but one. Fedor gave him his first lost in knockout fashion!!

Andrei Arlovski: When he faced Fedor he was ranked in the HW Top 5 and was a former UFC HW Champ. Fedor put him OUT COLD!

Tim Sylvia: When he faced Fedor he was ranked in the HW Top 5 and was a former 2 Time UFC HW Champ. Fedor completely overwhelmed him!

Mirko Cro Cop: When he faced Fedor he was the #2 HW in the world, was knocking everybody out, kicking everybody's heads off and everybody was saying he was unbeatable. Fedor dominated him!

Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (Big Nog): When he faced Fedor he was ranked #1 Pound For Pound in the world, #1 HW in the world, the Pride HW Champ (later became the UFC HW Champ), was tapping everybody out and people thought he was untouchable. Fedor dominated him and busted him all up. Then beat him up again in the rematch!

Mark Coleman: When he faced Fedor, he was a Top Contender, former UFC HW Champ, former Pride HW Grand Prix Champ

Kevin Randleman: When he faced Fedor, he was a Top Contender, former UFC HW Champ and Former Vale Tudo Champ.

Then there is Ricardo Arona...Semmy Schilt...Babulu Sobral...Matt Lindland...mand the list goes on and on!!!

The guy has a 10 year body of work that proves he is the best HW and one of the best Pound For Pound fighters in the world at this time! Not sure how you can deny that this guy is a beast! If he's not the best heaveyweight, than who is????
