Dana White talks UFC on FX 1, guarantees Anderson Silva will fight the winner of Sonnen vs. Bisping

UFC President Dana White looked back at last night's fight card in Nashville, Tennessee, which was headlined by Jim Miller's impressive comeback against Melvin Guillard. White confirmed Miller is now back in the mix for a shot at the UFC Lightweight title, while Melvin Guillard will have to go back to the drawing board. White also spoke about Josh Neer's victory over "Bang" Ludwig, and Pay Barry's vicious KO of Christian Morecraft.

UFC will return next week with UFC on FOX 2, co-headlined by the #1 Middleweight Contender bout between Chael Sonnen and Michael Bisping. Chael Sonnen declared during yesterday's conference call that Anderson Silva will refuse to fight the winner of his clash with Bisping, also revealing that the reigning UFC Middleweight champion turned down four offers for a rematch with the self-proclaimed linear champion.

White related to Sonnen's comments as "Chael being Chael", and guaranteed Mixed Martial Arts fans around the world that Anderson Silva will defend his title against this Saturday's co-main event winner, most likely in Brazil. White also added that if Rashad Evans is victorious and injury-free in his fight with Phil Davis, he will be the next in line for a shot at Jon Jones' 205 belt.

Enough sarcasm. I think EVERYONE who isn't a complete knew this already, the announcement was just for the legions of kids who actually like sonnen.

I'm not so sure it is "Chael being Chael" when he talks about Silva 'retiring' from the UFC.

I believe it is possible that Sonnen wins, Silva will refuse to fight him. The what does the UFC do?

Really? I didn't know Dana White cuts champions now, let alone the greatest champ the UFC has ever seen. You should ban yourself from this site for making comments like this.

Watch the video after the Silva Maia fight where Dana says he will cut Silva if he puts on another performance like he did in Abu Dhabi. He says it in multiple interviews. I'm surprised you missed it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lzZQpxYj3EQ

If people did that, there'd be no one left. Maybe you should ban yourself for suggesting someone should ban themselves?

I love Silva but if he refuses to fight the next guy in line he should be stripped. No man is bigger than the company.

Agreed! Silva is an all time great, but after his performance at ufc 97 and 112, some of the shine has rubbed off his career.

He didn't refuse. he beat sonnen already and sonnen was on steroids. He sees mixed martial arts as an honorable sport and when someone disrespects his family and culture the way sonnen did I see why he feels sonnen doesn't deserve to fight him.

Sorry, but beating someone once doesn't mean you never have to fight them again.

And deserve to fight him? Like facing Silva is some mystical honor that only the pure of heart can attain? Please.

If Anderson was worried so much about honor and respect, why did he kick Maia in the leg for 2 rounds, and then spend the rest of the fight running away while taunting him?

It was so bad, Silva got a warning from the ref for not fighting, the only time I've ever seen that happen.

griffin... only a small minded individual would result to violence when you could easily beat him with other options.. Sonnen is piss off, just like a little kid not getting what he wants.. So who is the winner, in ur words he choked his bitch ass and now hes beating him in other ways!!!! Griffing please read and reply i just want to know what you have to say!!!

If it hurt them more to not get a fight with you then you would deny them that chance. Chael is losing steam now and that makes Anderson happy to get back at him like that. Chael is worse off this way than getting his butt kicked.

Did you see the first round of Jones V Machida? Silva would clown Jones. 1st round KO.

It always is funny until they face the spider.lol. You act like the greatest most gifted fighter has no chance. Sure say you think the spider will lose but don;t act like he's done nothing and has nothing for Jones to be worried about. Silva has beaten the very elite even when he has been put into their world and nobody else does that not Jones for certain.

I watched it several times. Lyoto did win the round. He landed a few solid punches and one good kick. Hardly a dominant performance.

And it was followed by round 2, where the Dragon got floored by a right, knocked senseless and cut by a vicious elbow, and then chocked out and dropped like a sack of potatoes.

Get over the hate. Silva might be able to beat Bones, but there isn't a fighter on the planet that could "clown" JJ.

Did you see the 2nd round? Did you see Sonnen vs Silva? Jones gets hit with one good shot in his entire career and now he's so much more beatable than before? Gimme a break.

PS; I wish SIlva hadn't pussied out of any chance of a superfight with Jones as Jones is up for it. It would shut up fools like you for good.

I wish Bisping vs Sonnen was 5 rounds. I still think Bisping will outwork and out strike sonnen using better cardio and conditioning.
