if machida fought shogun again, i have a feeling shogun would win just because how their styles match up. im a huge machida fan but i know who the better man is after 2 Fights!!!
@IChokePeople, I would disagree, Florian is mainly a stand up fighter with decent wrestling and good BJJ, Aldo is one of the best strikers in MMA and has great takedown defense and his BJJ is at the same lvl as Florian maybe even better....Only thing Florian really has on him would b reach which I think Aldo would over come by speed, too bad this fight didn't happen it would have been sick

jon jones is not yet deserving of a title shot, Vera and Matyushenko are not the top of the heap. he needs to beat a top 5 lhw before we start saying he is a title contender.

The UFC wants more title fights, so Machida/Rampage winner will get title shot and jones/bader will be on deck to get it next.
theyd rather have 2 championship fights than a semifinal fight.
Championships = more $$$ - and the UFC is a business above all (just like the NFL NBA MLB etc.)

Fuk Florian. Get him in there with Edgar or Penn. Aldo has shown signs of greatness, lets test that greatness with greatness.
Florian would be a very challenging first fight at 155.

Agreed. Florian is a top lightweight himself and is a bad match-up for Aldo in my opinion. Apparently his camp may have felt the same way.

I think Henderson vs Aldo is a good first fight at 155 for Aldo
