Dana White says the UFC can "absolutely make a deal" for Alistair Overeem

UFC President Dana White, currently in Milwaukee ahead of UFC on Versus 5, discusses the event, as well as various other hot topics. White responds to a recent press release in which Golden Glory co-founder and trainer, Bas Boon, agreed to ZUFFA's business terms and offered to negotiate an exclusive contract with the UFC for top Heavyweight contender Alistair Overeem.

Dana White

"Well, that's awesome. If that's the true story and that's what (Bas Boon) said, sounds like we can make a deal then... One thing that I don't do, I wouldn't go on there and lie to all of you guys. If the deal was something other than what it was, I wouldn't go out publicly and say, "These guys wouldn't do this." I'm not trying to fight with Bas Boon, and I don't dislike Bas Boon - or any of the Golden Glory guys. We just had different business opinions on how the things should be done... Now, if Bas Boon is saying that this is the way that we can do it, then we can absolutely, positively make a deal and we can get this thing rolling again... To be in a position where Alistair Overeem can come over and fight in the UFC, why would I not do it?

Don't do it Ubereem.and just give it more time. Don't work for power hungry Dana. Stick with K-1 and Dream because M-1 Global will become just as lucrative organization in time working together with Showtime,ProElite, and CBS,and in long run you will have more freedom. Dana is about money not in the best interest of the fighters. MMA is about honor respect, and MMA needs to grow without Dana Whites greed. Dana White is destroying the MMA slowly and surly, look at how he makes malign comments about Fedor and other

    MMA organization.

You know that Fertitta Bros who owns Zuffa is facing 8 billion dollars in Bankruptcy from failed casino business. Just like the US economy is facing that truth will be told. Much of your comment have no value and no substance.

You are an absolute moron. Some businesses simply do not succeed, how does that reflect on the highly successful MMA promotion that they own? Furthermore, what does the U.S. economy have to do with anything? Even at its worst the American economy is still stronger than many. Stop talking out of your ass about things you have no real clue about.

You are classic absolute UFC troll just like Chael Sonnen. Please take Dana's nuts out of your mouth. Face the truth man this great economy once was is full of debt right now. Like the UFC is heading toward. Please tell me who is going to pay $55.00 for PPV when most people finds out it is free all over internet. So "FightLife" who is the dumb AZZ,so share profits with fighters and give back to MMA fans with fights we want to see. PrideFC forever.

Believe or not I fought for PrideFC,the greatest MMA org ever.

Dana needs to pay fighters better,if he continuously claiming that ZUFFA

is worth 2 Billion dollars. Dana needs to share profits with fighters that he makes with video games alone. Mark my word there will be rise to JMMA along with M-1 Global.

    Why would you lie?

    1) To quell potentially damaging rumors.

    2) To protect your reputation.

    3) To protect your business interests.

I'm not saying Dana is lying, but the "why would I lie" defense is a crock of shit.

Anyone know why its always Helwani doing these interviews? he always seems to get the extended all access interviews with Dana. But I seems to be for different organisations. Makes me think hes on the Zuffa PR payroll.

He works for AOL a partner company of NBC, but to an uneducated fan I can see how it would look that way. Dana is a media junkie and Ariel does interviews by the book aka. safe and controllable. Check out his Strike force interviews, they are the same way. Nice try with your rumors though.

Very good news I think. If what is written above is true then there is not only the chance of seeing Overeem fight in the UFC but also against the winner of the tourni. Personally, I think they should give him the winner of Cain V Dos Santos. Overeem is ranked #three in the division behind those two so fightin g the winner makes sense to me.
