Dana White looks back at UFC 129: Not every fight is going to be exciting

White also discussed Randy Couture's retirement, as well as Steven Seagal's growing emphasis in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
Next UFC fight card will be UFC 130, taking place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on May 28th. The event will be headlined by a trilogy between Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard.

I cannot imagine, JDS performing the crane kick, then Seagal will get the credit hahahaha
i don't know why people are expecting gsp to go out here and start to brawl and k.o people. he said it himself, he fight safe. Does that make him a less better fighter, YELL NO.
Good point, mate. Someone invented this weird notion that you should "FINISH" fights to be considered a great fighter. Many seem to have forgotten how GSP spectacularly destroyed/finished Serra 2, Hughes in their second and third rematches, BJP, and many others before the,. There's so much at stake for the Canadian champ in every new match: in a world marked by short-term memory and disloyalty even to the greats (remember Fedor), even a firm legacy like GSP's can be blown in the air after an arm-bar submission...So, stop complaining about his late deliveries and enjoy his wins over the best of mma fighters.
GSP does exactly what he needs to do to fight as well as he did
with one was amazing against a guy a dangerous as Shields,..
look this guy just doesnt hold a belt he now has a legacy and I
guarantee if Jake would of pushed the fight GSP would of did even more
and why isnt anyone talk about Jake this guy didnt do chit against a
guy with one eye for a guy with good wrestling and ?great BJJ? didnt
do chit to get him to the ground for a guy who had nothing to lose but
win a belt didnt try to do anything he should of been trying for take down
just something had nothing to lose!!!!????????
diaz vs gsp . yes
Funny how people were saying the opposite when Anderson was winning fights without getting touched....GSP got busted up by a guy with shocking stand up and he was going for that "weird looping right" to make it look as if he were trying to finish. He is too smart to keep trying the same thing over and over when it is not working.
Nicely put.
very nicely put
alot of people are criticizing gsp's performance, including me, but jake shields pissed me off even more. all that hype in the prime time shows, just to stand there and get picked apart for five rounds. in these interviews dana gives shields credit but for what? landing some lucky jabs that messed up gsp's eye? atleast gsp has some highlights to take away from this fight, cant say the same about shields. not impressed
@ jesse
Good points. I've been saying the same thing; there's a lot of criticism of GSP, but none of Shields for not making the fight happen, putting on the line, pushing the pace and attacking a seriously damaged opponent.
I told you guys to not believe the hype. Jake had noooooo chance of winning.
GSP on countdown show "This will be the best fight in UFC history" honestly i would rather watch jon fitch because atleast his fights are 3 rounds
f*kin hilariouse
you hit the nail on the head with that one sir!!!
Did Ariel Helwani ask Dana if he was tired? Where I come from, people like that get slapped.
GSP vs Nick Diaz make it happen Dana =)
Btw very mature Dana White version in this interview
i am impress by his performance lol
nick? yeah right didnt u see what rory did to him. you must mean nate and thats the only fight i see that makes sense now, and dana kinda admitted that he can make it happen. ellenberger is looking pretty good too, but not quite yet
oh no wait it is nick hard to make the difference since theyre bot assholes
i agree. on both points
