"People have been waiting to see the old Jose Aldo from the WEC, and hopefully this is his breakthrough fight. He's in his own country, he's fighting to defend his title, it's the first time he's ever, or that weight division, has ever headlined a UFC event. This is a big deal for this guy. Hopefully, this is going to be the fight that's his breakthrough fight and he's going to come out and pull out all the stops and be the Jose Aldo that everyone remembers. All the crazy flying knees and the punishing leg-kicks - all the things that everyone came to love this kid for, hopefully comes out on Saturday night."

Dana is most likely being interviewed here by some Brizilian media. He's not as much playing favorites as he's catering to and alluring the Brazilian fans to watch their "national hero" and PAY MONEY for it...Dana is a businessman...He sells words without deep conviction sometimes...I certainly believe that he thinks Mendez has a chance at beating the champ...Obviously part of what he says about Jose's dominance and advantageous position (fighting in homeland in front of own family and countrymen and close to his first gym) is very true...
your allowed to talk like that about the champ plus they in brazil dana dont want any riots if he loose....but i also noticed he looks slow in ufc and his fights hav been putting me to sleep
Idk y ppl r so harsh on Aldor his last 2 fights, if anyone saw the weight cutting vid Aldo 's camp put out, it was basically a miracle he was able to walking to the octagon and on top of that he completely out struck Hominick for the most part and as for the Kenflo fight, there isnt much someone can do if they r trying to wall and stall and then going on not only to outstrike Kenflo but even out grapple him...I still think hes top 4 P4P
Aldo and Edgar should fight at Featherweight then at Lightweight and afterwords switch divisions forever.
Just my thoughts...
I think Aldo will fight not to lose. Aldo has more to lose than Mendez he (Aldo) is in front to his home crowed and if he loses the belt it will be embarrassing. So don't be surprise if Aldo take out a decision victory..
So in other words, Dana's hoping the old Aldo shows up & smashes Mendes. Nice.
