Dana White goes guns blazing against Fedor and M-1 Global on Twitter

Immediately following Fedor Emelianenko's surprising loss to Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva, UFC President Dana White took to his Twitter account to make his feelings known on the matter.  Initially, just a simple smiley face was posted " : ) ".  However, it didn't take long before White could no longer hold back his "I told you so" remarks.

Emelianenko showed great resilience throughout the bout, surviving submission attempts, as well as an onslaught of punishing ground and pound unleashed by "Bigfoot."  However, the end came between rounds two and three, when the ringside doctor deemed the Russian unable to continue, awarding Silva with the victory.

While White's comments were met with an angry backlash from dedicated fans of "The Last Emperor," it is unlikely that it will slow his tempo, as we can surely expect more from him in the days to come.

I dont think they get offened by what is said as much as who is saying it, that the president of the biggest mix fight organiztions in the world, it is extremely unprofessional and immature to say some of the things he is saying, and he probably thinks he being tough or whatever but in the end this is one of the reason mix fight is having trouble being legalized in certain places, because the UFC president thats trying to get it legalized is telling people to take Fedor Emelianenkos ball out of there mouth

Thats what I've been saying about why MMA is not legalized in New York. Dana ****ing White. What a dumb ass bastard spouting immature things like that, especially about a fighter who is humble, nice and overall a good person. He hypes of Crock Lesnar to be this big bad ass, but sadly cannot give Fedor an ounce of respect for his achievements.

And I wouldnt doubt that if these statements ever get into the major publics eye that something will be said that someone else got ahold of Danas twitter, but we'll see I was more confused than anything, I mean I know he hates Fedor but seriously do you have any class at all? he just lost his second fight in a row and stated theres a good chance he'll retire so Dana thinks the right thing to do is insult him?

are u really that dumb and ignorant? dana and the ufc are the only reason mma is legal in as many places as it is. do u see strike force trying to go to new places? no. mma is legal in ontario where i live now because of dana white. like him or hate him dana has done more for mma than about any other single human on the planet. think about what u say before going on an angry rant next time

No one should get offended by Dana anymore and it's not like he's ever been professional. The guy says what he feels and I guess there is nothing wrong with that. I don't like the guy but respect what he has going on. His business is thriving and he is cutthroat.

Fedor was one of the best. he kinda lost that claim in the past 3-4 years taking only a few fights against less then stellar competition and losing a couple times.

Danas kinda right. fedor was one of the hottest communities in MMA and he he didnt cash in as much as he could have. It seemed like fedors people thought he was bigger then the sport. but while he was waiting for big checks the sport was getting bigger, stronger and richer with out him.

Fedor nearly ruled the sport for a decade. Id be surprised to see him win against the elite in this decade.

Dana White is a complete asshole and has little to no respect for anyone who doesn't directly benefit him in some way.

He's been extremely important for the sport and has done soo many great things, but at the end of the day, he carries himself more like an immature and childish high school bully who would kick dirt in your face when you're down, then a business professional.

He's spiteful, pessimistic, arrogant and probably the most unprofessional business man I've ever encountered. I'll never deny what he's done for the sport and I agree with him on a lot of subjects and topics, but tonight... He crossed the line.

Fedor is the living, breathing example of how an athlete should carry themselves. He has NEVER asked for fame, popularity, success or recognition. The man has been at multiple disadvantages his entire career and yet he has still managed to cement himself as the best and most accomplished fighter in MMA history.

He disrespects NO ONE, he loves his family, his friends and he fights for honour, pride and for the love of sport. Fedor is more than a fighter to me, he's a role model. If I can one day become the gracious, kind humble man that he is... I would feel very proud.

It was obvious tonight that he was not himself and was not the Fedor of old. It was sad to see him dominated, but ultimately... No one defeated him, because in both loses, he defeated himself.

Fedor accomplished all of his victories with his mind, his ability to focus and think quickly is what gave him an advantage and ultimately a victory over all of his opponents. He lost to Werdum and to Silva because it seems that he just simply wasn't able to achieve the same mental focus he once had.

I will NEVER forget what he's done and who he is. And I will NEVER forget the words Dana White chose to speak ,about a legend of the sport whom every fighter seems to respect unanimously.

Dana will go to hell when all is said and done and Fedor will be smiling next to God in the afterlife.

I agree that Fedor was a great example of a person and for how a fighter should carry themselves.

With that said, I dont know very many people at all who would not agree that his management was completely handled the wrong way.

If you look again, Dana was actually taking shots at Fedors management and his rabid fanboys, not the man himself. And lets be honest - everyone here was probably upset with Fedors management at one time or another.

So I would try not to get too offended.

Dana tried to work something out with the "baddest man on the planet" and got denied... UFC's only real competition is Strikeforce and their claim to fame is comtemplating hanging up his gloves...

Do you really expect Dana to jump into bed with Fedor at the end of his career cause he is such a great fighter? Give him respect? Or take advantage of the opportunity?

I'm not sure what kind of big business you've taken part in, but it can be as cut throat as it gets. If you can eliminate or push your competition down for profits, chances are you'd do it too. Large scale business professionals are bullies... 9 times out of 10.

I think Fedor is the GOAT and I don't blame Dana for his comments... hes's just promoting! (Like it or not)

I agree with that completely, I've never been happy with his management.

But Dana tweeting smiles when the greatest legend of the sport has taken a beating and practically announced his retirement and his lack of willingness to continue is just inappropriate.

Yesterday was nothing but one of the saddest and most historic days in MMA history. There are certain fighters that you should never look forward to losing because they are outstanding human beings and deserve respect... Randy Couture, Mirko Crocop, Vitor Belfort, Georges St. Pierre and above all Fedor Emelianenko.

I be honest, with the exception of Fedor, Overeem, GSP, Cain, and Anderson Silva. MMA sucks. The rest of Strikeforce and UFC fighters all suck. I can't stand watching them with the exception of the fighters above. It is JOKE. Everyone can put gloves on and train to fight. NOT EVERYONE can put the helmet on and play football. When these fighters are gone the sport will suck. Gayna, has NO hope of EVER out dooing football. The Sport will NEVER evolve in America because of football and the Bowl Championships and the NCAA TOurney.

I will say Kudos to Strikeforce on the GP tourney. I think the doctors rang the bell too early on Fedor. In the GSP/Koscheck fight they let Kosheck keep fighting. I know it was a different doctor and a different country they fought in. It turned out to that Fedor only had a swollen eye NOT a broken orbital bone like Koscheck had.

Also Gayna (Dana White) is the worst thing that happen to MMA. The worst guy to run the UFC. Vince McMahon would make it main stream just like he did with the WWE. Everyone knew who Hulk Hogan was. NOT everyone knew who Brock, Randy Couture, or Cain is. Sad could of been good Dana, but you couldn't sign Fedor.

Whether Fedor is done or not MMA sucks. I am not a doctor, but I have seen some orbital bone break over the year. If it was broke you could see a definant dispostion of the eye socket. I told my brother when they were checking that it was not and it was just swollen I bet from a lasseration. Turns out I was right. Again, they let Koscheck fight with a broken orbital, Fedor just had a swollen eye.

It's more than likely that he has no clue how severely dangerous and dominant, Crocop, Mark Hunt, Mark Coleman, Kevin Randleman and Nogueira were.

Few have beat Nogueira in his prime let alone beat him in his own guard 3 times. No one could defeat Crocop in his prime and he was the most feared striker in MMA and Fedor defeated him standing up.

He's no better than an ignorant kid typing away comments behind his computer. Reason all this is going on is probably cuz they had such sour negotiating issues in the past that dana will bad mouth him for that reason, hes more of a business man than a fan. which is how a president should be. bottom line is fedor was the greatest in any organization IN the pride era. but the sport has evolved since then and honestly he doesnt have a relevant spot in the HW division anymore. He should of moved to LHW years ago, when he was still in his prime. Even now he could, but i believe hes lost his drive. Fact is everyone gets old, and new people will allways be taking over the sport. Fedor was and is ONE of the greats of the sport, but can never say he is the greatest.

Secondly - if a guy like Fedor is going to lose, then may it be in a fight like this, because that was great. How Fedor survived that arm triangle is beyond me; that would have been in for anyone else, I could think of.

Just a straight-up Bravo to Fedor for a great fight and a ton of heart, taking a beating in a 10-8 second round and for the willingness to continue on. Also, Bravo to the doctor for stopping the fight. It was the right call.

As to Dana - again, classless. I love the vocabulary, for one; very professional. I know Scott Coker and other promoters speak that way. Moving on...I don't know what he's crowing about. SF just put on an incredible fight and a great card, as part of a tournament (something The UFC doesn't do) that will gain more interest as it goes. They now have a new "Giant" (literally) HW to market; yet another "serious" HW not under UFC contract / control. How do you think Bigfoot would fare in The UFC? I'd say, very bloody well. And Fedor...well, he is still Fedor and people are still going to want to see him fight.

About the only thing Dana has to crow about here, is that Fedor's market value and M1's relevance, just took another, bigger hit. However, on a personal level to Fedor, probably doesn't mean a great deal. And when you consider that he beats most, if not all, HW's in The UFC, what would Dana's point be?

My Card - I call this a solid 10-9 round for StrikeForce and Scott Coker, over The UFC. It could even be argued that it was a 10-8 round, with the ramifications of Bigfoot's dominant win.

Cheers to Scott Coker for a great fight.

Other than Fedor's fight, this card suxed. I agree Dana's an ass but Coker and M1 are not impressive by any means. First round KOs = mismatched garbage.

BTW, I had Silva too (and I'm no Fedor hater).

I thought it was a great card; I enjoyed it.

I'm no Fedor hater, either; just thought he was going to lose.

    Cheers,

I have lost no respect for Fedor. His accomplishments in the past decade are unparalleled. Now his time appears to be up. I have now lost all respect for Dana White. The guy is on the decline and this parasite finds pleasure in if. F\/(k DW.

I won't waste typing-time answering to Dana, I'll just say that he is not worthy to speak about Fedor. He is a man at the bottom of the evolution scale while Fedor is at top.

dayum it's just a businessman insulting the competition, calm down, it's not like he broke into your house on christmas eve and jizzed on your kids.. being a fedor fan used to be great, until it turned into a ****in cult.

also why do people say fedor fights for honour respect and love of sport when he's stated before that he only got into 'mixed-fighting' because he needed the paycheques.

Lets us accept that fedor has past his prime...that dana white is just a bitter guy who cannot have fedor to fight in his show...u saw the fight..nothing changes..people are just afraid of changes.. hard to accept but dana white is promoting UFC verry well..soon we will see the the fall of the reign of dana white.. we will just wait..every dog will have his day..

    1) DW has no class and is an @55H01e. He is a promoter, what did you guys expect?

    2) Fedor is a MMA fighter, and is one of the greatest of all (IMO).

    3) Fedor has "NOT" evolved for the past 5 years or more and it showed this weekend.

    4) Different "BREED" of HW/MMA fighters. Stronger and bigger. Training with the best strikers, BJJ, wrestlers, etc... ITS 2011 people!!!! If you are training the same way as if it was 2005, you are already at a disadvantage.

Another note... All those comments Dana made were responses to people that were giving him crap for posting a ":)".

WTF did people expect he was gonna post on his twitter??!!

He couldn't sign Fedor cause of M1 demands and ya... they don't like each other... get over it! Don't follow his twitter if you don't want his opinion!!!
