Dana White goes beserk after Anderson Silva's "Main Event disgrace" (updated)

As much as I'd like to see Anderson Silva actually do some thing for more than the first 2 rounds in a fight, if Dana doesnt quit doing crap like that we're gonna see him in Strikeforce when his contract expires (and doesnt he only have one or two more fights left on it?).

There's no way Dana will let Anderson go. I believe Anderson will be forced to move to LHW permanently. That's three fights now that Silva hasn't taken seriously and they have all been at 185. We can only hope.

Screw Anderson Silva, if he goes to strikeforce then whatever. There aint much to fight for over there anyway. Just like Fedor...he's going to loose money in strikeforce.

Must say I am a huge Anderson Silva fan, even tho I dont really like all that show boating from ANY fighter. Must admit tho he some how makes me smile when he does it.......But THEN WTF HAPPENED?!? You can't bet on the way a fight is finished. Only on who wins. I think it would be really could if you could, but every betting site I've been on doesn't have that option. So that can't be the case. Not a bad idea though.

Actually u can. I just went and looked. I bought the newest issue of the UFC magazine and they had an article called "How to Play the Odds" about betting in Las Vegas. Thats in Vegas tho, so maybe the sites dont do it. The article says it started at UFC 106 and it is called proposition bets or "Prop Bets." So, again I am really starting to wonder. GSP was clearly trying to finish that fight, that armbar and kimura were as close as you can come to tapping a guy without actually doing so. Even though he didnt want to stand with Hardy, St. Pierre was still active on the ground as opposed to Silva who had the fight in his world but refused to partake in it.

No matter how bad the event was today, I'm still thankful for the UFC for putting up so many events all year round. Silva is and was overrated, Brock should be fighting 3 times a year (according to Dana - champ should fight 3 times a year, he was talking about Fedor), to prove he is a legit champ, otherwise he is just Dana's money making brand, and that's it, until he can prove himself with at least 10-15 serious fights. UFC, Strickeforce - M1, should have at least once a year a championship fight between they champs to determine the true and only one champion of the world with a unified UFC/Strickeforce/M1 belt! Everyone would win, because that fight no one would wanna miss! I mean NO ONE!!!

i think people should look at it from the perspective that a win is a win. For anderson to lose the belt, someone needs to come TAKE it from him. hes not gonna give it away. No one screams at quarterbacks for taking a knee at the end of the game. if you have the lead, hold the lead and take the win. Well since Anderson wants to be in a circus match, I believe he would be a great match against James Toney. This matchup would somehow negate any loss on the PPV buys from watching Silva since I'm sure James Toney will bring his own fans who would watch him fight in the UFC. With James Toney's ego, he would not allow himself to be on the receiving end of such acts by Silva and at least make a fight out of it.

If you think about it, it's Dana's FAULT. Maia was never close to being a title contender. We all knew what the outcome was going to be. Even on this website, fans were dissapointed with the matchup. When you're a fighter as talented as Anderson, and you have been the champion for years, it hard to motivate yourself. In all sports, champions need motivation to keep winning. Even though Anderson dominated the fight, he still fought about 60% to his potential. He could of finished the fight in the first round if he wanted to. "To be the champion, you have to beat the champion". In my opinion I think Anderson Silva follows this philosophy but goes over bored with it. Most champions feel that since they are champion they have nothing left to prove to the other contenders. It seems as though Anderson thinks that since he's the champion, that it shouldn't be him trying to defeat the challenger but that the challenger needs to out right defeat him as a champion.



On one hand he deserves that right because he is the champ.
