Dana remains calm and collected - completely unthreatened by the interviewer. We might even have witnessed Dana make a new friend.

I don't care how blatantly subjective Dana's morals are, as long as he has some consistency and integrity when acting on them.

I honestly don't think Sonnen was lying about his reasons for the testosterone usage. Not saying Sonnen's a saint for concealing the testosterone, but let's be serious here. If you are taking doctor prescribed testosterone to buff yourself up, are you going to claim it was for hypogonadism or an injury?

Dana White: Chael!?! How could you do this? Why are you taking testosterone?

Chael Sonnen: Cause I've got tiny nuts.

Just doesn't strike me as something someone would say unless it was true.

Seriously, hypogonadism? I felt dirty about laughing at him for a week after he admitted that, but I laughed at him anyway. The way Chael talks, I can't imagine that his ego is any smaller than your average mountain. I really can't imagine him admitting he had little junk unless that was actually the reason for him using it.

Granted, hypogonadism IS a noted side effect of steroid use, and if that's the case here I've gotta say karma's got a wicked sense of humor.

Neither did Barnett. It is a ridiculous charge. Fighters pull out of or are unable to fight all the time without folding a promotion. If the company folded it was due to other issues.

is that the best reason you can come up with??? fact is if you claim one person can make a company fold then that company was doomed right from the get go.

lets take Cheal and the ufc for instance (Mind you I am still a huge cheal fan regardless of his dirty dealings) you dont see the ufc folding because cheal allegedly did "PEDs" or was involved in the mortgage scandal.

Point I'm trying to make here is the UFC as a business has a strong foundation and I dont believe a single fighter will ever make the UFC fold.

So I'm sick and tired of hearing same stupid excuse bout Barnett. Yes the man cheated and he has served his time, He is a talented fighter and I for one believe he is a great addition to this tournament and cant wait to see the outcome of this tournament

@theashark. Why do you keep saying that barnett made a company fold. I think there must have been some serious issues going on well before the barnett situation. You must be very naive to think that the barnett issue was the one and only thing that made it fold, maybe he was the final part but that ship was already sinking. And as for dana, if his main point is barnetts drug failures in sport then why has he let people such as belfort, sherk, sylvia, baroni, all fail drugs tests but he then lets then continue after short bans.

Barnet did not make Affliction fold , Tom realize it was too much work and his lazy ass decide to stay with Tshirts and kiss Dana's ass

instead of hard work and potentially beat the UFC

at least Coker will enjoy the fighters affliction left homeless

    like Barnett and Arlovski

While its true that american idol is more "mainstream" than UFC...I still feel the need to have someone in idol get knocked the F*** out more than someone in the UFC...weird feeling.

Can we say Dana VS Barnett for the 2011 " Trash talk " of the year award?

A little premature to make that call. Sonnen may still be able to fight in 2011, so we'll have to wait for that. Also, Tito is fighting soon, thats always fun.

'How many people are watching this thing'

    'Two--including my parents'

    LOL

When Ariel interviewed Barnett, he was unfair to Barnett. Ariel Helwani, who believes Dana White has made such a large contribution to MMA, forced the issue, trying to make Barnett say something nice about Dana--even after all the trash talking Dana has slammed Barnett.with.

Josh Barnett was understandably reluctant to say nice things, but Ariel continued to push. After that whole interview, guess what became the headline?

I feel bad for Barnett, knowing he did not want to talk about Dana White in the interview which was only for the promotion of the new Strikeforce tournament.

I don't remember Barnett saying anything nice about Dana? He said he didnt like Dana and called him unnecessary during that interview.

Ariel first tried to show a clip of Dana White slamming Barnett, to get Barnett's response. Barnett was clearly reluctant to 'be like Dana' and start a trash talking war. Ariel pushed the issue.

    Barnett responded:

"Basically what it comes down to is

is a--you know, anything to be a detriment to, not even just me, its got to do with anyone who isn't UFC, He wants to cut it down, he wants to ruin it, he wants to--and there is a part of me which truly understands the idea of the obliterating, an the destroying, annihilating any of your competition, But what he is working in is a subjective field. The UFC Strikforce whatever, they can fight it out...but its entertainment."

"You do need, I believe, more than one option, you need a Strikeforce"

    Barnett On Dana White:

"His image has helped in certain ways and he has given a face to it" (MMA)

BTW: After the hearing the Barnett comment from Dana, the nerd in the clip above should have asked what Dana White thought of all of the UFC fighters who tested positive for PEDs and whether they were bad for the sport.

But the nerd wanted his press credentials. Notice the trend in MMA reporting?

Yea, I remember the interview... I guess that last remark you could consider "nice," but among everything else that was said, its hardly a positive statement. In fact, in the context he made that remark he was comparing it to how a "circus" needs a ringmaster to stand outside and say come one, come all etc etc.

Nevertheless, I understand what you are saying... The issue was definitely pushed upon Barnett, but it seemed (to me at least) like he was trying to get a negative response, not a positive one.

I'm tired of hearing DW tell us who will and won't be in The UFC and for "whatever" reason seems to strike his fancy at the time.

Josh Barnett is bad for the sport, but Chael Sonnen is good? Barnett will "never" fight in The UFC, but Chael Sonnen..."we'll see"?

I don't care about DW's personal feelings, nor do I care about his political ones...this is a sport and business, not a personal soap box. If the best fighter in the world was a complete ass and I couldn't stand him, I'd still want to see him in the big show and fighting the best; regardless of whether or not it made Dana happy.

White's problem with Barnett is that he doesn't play the game and he doesn't kiss White's ass. Steroids are the "excuse" that he uses to trash the guy; fair enough. However, I truly wonder, how many fighters in The UFC are on something? Dana are you saying all your fighters are clean? ...cough, cough.

But Josh Barnett took steroids and wasn't in the UFC--that makes all the difference.

The following fighters however, are not bad for the sport:

    Royce Gracie,

    Shane Carwin,

    Chael Sonnen,

    Sean Sherk,

    Chris Leben,

    Stephan Bonnar,

    Tim Sylvia,

    Nate Marquardt,

    Kimo Leopoldo,

    Vitor Belfort,

    Kit Cope,

    Phil Baroni,

    Hermes Franca,

    Anthony Torres,

    Alexandre Nogueira,

    Vincius Quieroz,

    Kevin Randleman,

    Cole Province

very true but to be fair, i think if any of those guys had tested positive on 3 separate occasions he'd have given them the boot. I can sort of understand why white wouldn't want barnett in the ufc, especially when he's trying to get the sport sanctioned in NY, it'd look bad to have a fighter on your roster who's gotten caught roiding 3 times. :L

It's interviews like this that should remind all you douchebags out there who constantly hate on Dana White that the reason that MMA is legal and regulated in most of the US is a direct result of the aggressive compaign of Dana White and the UFC to educated and proliferate the sport. Everyone benefits from this huge machine they've created. The more awareness, the bigger the sport will become and the longer it will last. I don't know if you're just protective of your sport and wish to keep it a niche market but in my ideal world, MMA would overtake football as the number one sport in the United States. Can you think that if it were as popular as the NFL that kids would be school-yard brawling? If it were a part of the physical educaton cirriculum for kids the way that baseball and football are, how would that not benefit us all?

Thank you Dana White and the UFC, no matter what your motivations, for the work you've done all across Canada, the United States and the world. Without these guys, our favourite sport would still be limited to Nevada and a handful of states and remain fringe until it faded away in a generation.
