Dana White: If Hector Lombard wants to fight in the UFC, we'll probably sign himPosted on March 7, 2012, 01:52 PM by Joey Santosus
UFC President Dana White, who was present in Australia for the UFC on FX 2 event in Sydney, fields questions from local media members regarding Bellator Middleweight Champion Hector Lombard. Seemingly unfamiliar with the former Olympic judoka, White says he has recently "heard all about him," and is open to signing Lombard should be become a free agent.
Currently 31-2 with 17 knockouts, Lombard owns victories over such UFC contenders as James Te Huna and Brian Ebersole, and is unbeaten in his last 25-fights. Though Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebeny has expressed a desire to re-sign the heavy-handed champ, the Cuban-Australian's contract with the promotion is expected to expire in a matter of months. "I guess he's pretty popular down here. I've been hearing all about him since I've been (in Australia). But, he's under contract with somebody else - so we'll see. I'll probably end up with him. If he wants to fight in the UFC, then we'll probably end up with him."
