UFC President Dana White shared thoughts about Nevada State Athletic Commision's decision to suspend Alistair Overeem for 9 months due to failed UFC 146 pre-fight drug test. White was not impressed with Overeem's line of defense, once again stating that the Dutchman lied to his face when he said "I'm the most tested athlete in MMA. I never used PEDs". As for Alistair Overeem's future with the UFC, Dana White commented "we'll see what happens".

I'm disappointed this had to happen before the fight. If Dos Santos had destroyed him first then we could just go ahead and be busy not caring at all about whether he ever fights in the UFC again.

If Dana really thought that, then why wait so long to replace him in the title fight?

My hunch is they needed that time to negotiate with JDS to take the replacement fight with Mir.

    In all fairness they should.

Cyborg, Sonnen and T. SIlva all got 1 year and as far as I see Reem has done no better than them except lie about not knowing he was taking it, unlike the Sonnen and Thiago.

Thiago took it so he could heal an injury, just like Reem did. Only difference is Reem came clean and admitted he took it knowingly while Reem hasn't.

I don't think anyone can say anymore that the UFC tries to corrupt/bypass the system, big names get let off or that they leave guys to roid and let them off - Reem not in the title fight is a huge blow to the UFC and has destroyed one of the most marketable fights in the UFC's history, Sonnen being suspended for a year and almost ruining the rematch with Anderson Silva was a big scare and worry at the time.

Would you let one off your cash cows go? Yep I thought so...and besides if they released him, he would join Bellator and promote their company which is not good for the UFC

Actually the biggest liar in the UFC is Triple H

the man told us he is gonna end the Undertaker's Streak... well... it was a lie. or maybe it was in the WWE. to be honest, it's hard to tell.

Do the urine test on every fighter randomly once a month. Simple.

But then guys couldn't cycle. You just pointed out why its obvious most pro sports leagues have a don't ask , don't tell policy concerning PEDs

I was under the impression that a first offence was an automatic one year.

A 9 month suspension is a very light punishment.

After six months break, Reem will be heavy in camp again preparing to fight and will hardly notice this time off, thats if Dana is willing to forgive.

How do u get rid of a fighter that so many fans want to see bang. The UFC can't sack every star that does something wrong or they would starve themselves silly of PPV buys

If he believes it will bring in the right amount of money, Dana will forgive anything.

I heard the commission was going to suspend Dana from talking in public due to the limited vocabulary he has.
