Dan Hardy vs. Chris Lytle set for August 14th

UFC on Versus 5 continues to come together today with the addition of a promising Welterweight clash between Dan Hardy and Chris Lytle.
UFC officials confirmed that agreements are in place for the match-up on Wednesday.
Its a bout that both fighters, each coming off a loss, have expressed a desire for in recent weeks and undoubtedly stands-out as an early contender for the event's Fight of the Night bonus.
Hardy (23-9) finds himself in a must win situation after dropping three in a row. The hard-hitting Brit made his UFC debut in 2008 and shot straight to the top of the division with consecutive wins over Akihiro Gono, Rory Markham, Marcus Davis, and Mike Swick before being matched with Welterweight champ Georges St. Pierre early last year. Though "The Outlaw" put on a gutsy display, surviving five-rounds of top control and submission attempts, he found himself on the wrong side of a lop-sided unanimous decision and has since suffered losses against both Carlos Condit and Anthony Johnson.
Lytle (30-18), meanwhile, looks to bounce back from a unanimous decision loss against promotional newcomer Brian Ebersole this past February. Prior to the defeat, the veteran was riding a career high four-fight winning streak, including victories over Kevin Burns, Brian Foster, Matt Brown, and former division Champion Matt Serra.
UFC on Versus 5 is set to take place August 14th from the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Additional bouts set to be featured include Jim Miller vs. Ben Henderson, Stephan Bonnar vs. Karlos Vemola, Duane Ludwig vs. Amir Sadollah, and Jacob Volkmann vs. Danny Castillo.

Wow this card's got some really interesting fights on it. Zuffa's stepped up big time.
Great fight, its a toss up imo could ge either way but I'm leaning towards Hardy via decision don't think he will be able to KO Lylte with Lylte's steel chin
that could be a good match up for hargy . if he can stand with him .
Must win fight for Hardy if he still wants to be considered to be in the upper class of the welterweight division
Must win fight for Hardy if he wants to remain in the UFC. He's on a 3 fight losing streak.
But he's not going to get it done. Lytle's boxing skills are just as good as his, if not better. Maybe he doesn't have Hardy's punching power, but he is technically as good or better. More importantly, he is a much more well rounded fighter with more experience, much better wrestling and BJJ.
Lytle will take Hardy down at will, and if he doesn't get the submission, he will win the decision.
I dont like hardys chances in this one. If he looses watch out for the snip snip..
just because he has no big wins.. none, old mike swick and marcus davis are his only real wins. Both past their prime and no relevency in the division
swik was in his prime and rdy for a title shot when hardy beat him.
And where is Swick now!? Someone tell me. I used to love watching him fight!
He had some rare health problems that were causing him to lose weight, which is why he dropped to WW in the first place. The condition was misdiagnosed, so it was not being treated properly.
He is currently working on gaining back the muscle mass he lost so he can go back to MW, where he feels he is stronger and more competitive.
Should be a good fight. : )
Hardy is a punk, I hope he gets KO'ed again, and then cut.
I think this is a bad match up for Dan. I can't see him knocking him out but I can see him catching a big shot and going down. I don't really rate Dan's chin and this is just going to be a thai boxing match
Hardy better learn to defend Lytle's roll-under kneebar attempts
Fight of the night right here. Go Lights Out!
i feel bad for hardy, he is an ok guy but lytle bjj i think will be the key and probably he will loss and get cut
i gotta go with my boy Lytle in this one, tough fight for both guys
sick fight
Goodbye Hardy. Luckily there's always BAMMA.
Lytle's boxing is just as good as Hardy's, although perhaps he doesn't have quite the punching power. However, he has no reason to come in and strike with Hardy, because he can easily take him down and look for submissions.
Lytle by submission or decision if Hardy doesn't tap.
Chris Lytle isnt like GSP, he will break Hardy's bones!!!! BIATCH!!!
I am afraid I must agree with those who believe Hardy's days are numbered.
Hardy mocked GSP's wrestling, and somehow lost the title fight with the respect of many fans solely because he didn't tap in a difficult situation. Footage shows GSP deliberately letting go of the kimura which could have snapped Hardy's arm, and Hardy was completly dominated--but not finished.
Then he fights Condit and becomes ****y since Condit is trading with him, and Condit KTFO's him.
Then in his fight with Johnson, Anthony is no fool, and knowing Hardy's weakness takes Hardy to the ground and dominates him. After seeing the writing on the wall, Hardy still had not developed a ground game.
Dana likes Hardy, who is a fave with many fans--but popularity will only get you so far in the UFC.
Unless he gets a W, he is toast.
This has "Fight of the night" written all over it!
