Hardy needs to take the fight to the ground...I believe Johnson has more power in his hands n legs and prolly will get the better of Hardy standing up

He's learned a lot of valuable lessons in his last 2 fights that I think will take him far. He jumped up to #1 contender status so fast he passed up a lot of good fighters that I hope we get to see him against soon.

Hey Hardy, you have to win a few first, and Johnson just might put you on the mat for the second straight fight, so you better be ready.

if Johnson isn't suffering from a severe case of ring rust you're 100% rite... Johnson is a way more complete striker then Hardy. it's going to look alot like Hardy vs condit except he gonna eat some kicks b4 he goes down this time.

hardy u look good with out that red hair! and i do know you learn alot after that ko from condit! but why would you say that gsp would probably retire be4 you got too him? is it because your journey up is going too the top is going to be slow too another shot? gee gsp is your age hardy! if any thing gsp will be around as long or longer than you! and if you dont get that shot with gsp any more it will be because you screwed up! or gsp moved up!

Personally, I like Hardy; he's grown on me.

As already noted on this thread - he's been handed some very valuable lessons in his last two fights / losses. He was far too full of himself and far too confident for his skill set; trips to China or otherwise. I think those issues have now been dealt with, thanks to GSP and Condit.

I will pull for him in this fight and not because I dislike AJ (I think he's an awesome fighter with great potential), but rather because I don't want to see Hardy cut; and could well be cut if he loses. And to be honest, I'm shocked that they gave Hardy a fight this tough, because he could easily lose.

If he does lose - StrikeForce will be the winner; another legitimate fighter with name recognition for the promotion and their 170 division; Diaz vs. Hardy? I'd watch that; sorry Dana.

I dont think the UFC would cut him if he looses tbh. He provides entertaining fights and puts it all on the line every fight. That being said, I think Hardy stands a good chance in this fight, and as someone said earlier ... a win over AJ would definitely get him back on track for a future no. 1 contender spot.

    @ slick

Agreed - a win over AJ would be a significant victory; it's the upside of fighting a guy as tough as "Rumble". As to him being back on track, yes, but it's going to be a long track. Even he said, he'd like to get another shot at GSP, but he doesn't know if he'll be retired or out of the division, by the time that might happen. I'd say Dan has to put a good five fights under his belt before we start hearing his name again, as a contender.

As I said - his brash, ****y self, has grown on me and I've always liked his stand-up. I like this humble, affable, self-effacing, honest, respectful Hardy, more than the old Hardy; he's grown up, a bit.

He's a funny guy, with a lot of personality and has a lot to offer The UFC & MMA in general. I think he'd make a great champ...someday. And I wish him a victory over AJ.

Shame - I thought and still do think, the same things about Paul Daley. I still think his banishment was / is an over reaction.

    Cheers,

    Wing Chun

Yeah I like Daley too, very exciting fighter ... if he keeps knocking people out in other organisations maybe Dana White might possibly change his mind ... wishful thinking on my part maybe.

hey rick your hoping daley will luck out and DANA WHITE will take him back ! thats what i just read correct ? well your very smart for sayn wishful thinking! daley is bad for the sport bro! and i am NOT being racist ! here in north america we took that as a huge slap in the face! and so did koscheck! when daley done that ! i can remember being in a tournament and this 1 guy did the same thing too the winner! and he lost his purple belt ! and was charged with assult bodly harm too another person! so the whole poor sports man ship crap is not welcome here or any wheres ! really ! even dana white is correct on that 1!!

Hey Garry, I'm not saying what he did to Koshcheck was ok ... it wasn't. But I enjoy watching his fights and I hope he learned a big lesson from the Koshcheck fight ... "dont be a ****". If he has learned his lesson, I would like to see him 1 day fight the top lvl guys once more, (UFC).

yeah ... every fighter lives for that moment of being top and holding a title! but where MMA is just a little over 20 yrs old! its considered still a growing sport! and it dont look good for the sport! dana white did the correct thing cutting daley. ufc mma fans dont like that crap also! its bad for the business and white cant cut conrers on that stuff!

doubt it'll be even close to 5 fights, if he wins 2 fights they'll start promoting him as a welterweight elite again, undeservedly, but special treatment in ufc is everywhere

They are probably hoping to get a UK champ in somewhere to boost the business in UK. I think they will try and do the same in other areas of the world too when they get there. Have a champ for each major participating country will rake in the crowds.

I like Hardy, and I enjoy his fights, win or lose--but the WW division is tough.

There is no shortage of hungry WW's wanting to move up--this division is stacked with talent.

Strikeforce would do well to watch the UFC WW and LW cuts, since even the cuts in these divisions are often great fighters.

I like Dan. He the best fighter that U.K fighters have right now and had the best chance at beating GSP. If he make a few adjustments he could be a real factor in the division this year. Give him a few fight to prove he's improved and then later this year another shot at GSP, if he still has the belt at that time. Which I believe he will. Good Fighter and honest.
