Dan Hardy looking to smash Matt Hughes in the face
Posted on December 22, 2011, 06:54 PM by Trent ReinsmithThe last time Dan Hardy was in the Octagon he was submitted by Chris Lytle via guillotine choke during their main event fight at the August 14 UFC Live event. The loss was Hardy’s fourth straight defeat with the UFC. Prior to that extended losing streak Hardy had gone 12-1 in his previous 13 fights.
Even with four straight defeats, Hardy remains on the UFC roster, most likely due to the fact that he is a fighter that can be counted on to attempt to put on an entertaining fight, no matter who his opponent is. With that in mind, Hardy has an idea who he would like his next opponent to be when he returns to the Octagon.
"I've mentioned Matt Hughes to Lorenzo [Fertitta.] He's been on a rough streak as well recently, he'll look at me and see I've lost four fights and think he can outwrestle me. I also genuinely don't like him. I need a fight to get up for and I'd take great pleasure in smashing him in the face. I won't talk about why I don't like him, it's some knowledge I have about him away from the sport. Even students around where he lives bet against him." – for more see ESPN.com

I hope he does well. Hardy seems like a cool guy. A much better representative to Britain than Bisping for sure.
When Bruce Buffer announces Dan Hardy its some cool shit.
wait...... so why are you still in the UFC?
Cool guy? If he and Bisping are the poster boys for Britain, then British MMA is in a lot of trouble. I can't tell who is the bigger Pr*ck between the two of them.
Hardy just wants easy pickins' for his next fight, so he can keep his job. Not that Hughes is easy, but lets' face it, we've seen the last of his greatness and he should retire.
I think if Hardy wanted easy pickings, doubt he would pick Hughes for his 'do or die' fight. There are plenty of easy fights that would allow Hardy to keep his job with a win. I see this as Hardy refusing to become a gate-keeper and pushing himself to prove himself as a force in the division even if there is high risk he will lose his job against a still dangerous Matt Hughes.
shut up
So is mine, must be the weather.

Damn folks, don't get caught making comments on company time, you just got promoted to French fry fryer. Thats not using Wizdum, you keyboard thug.
Who do you have a bigger crush on Hate? Wizdom or Anderson Silva?
I also can't stand Hughes but it seems kind of weak of Hardy to call him out. Is Matt even still fighting? I thought he retired? What the hell is the point of beating Hughes at this point?
Matt's a good way to get back on track. Like a "fluffer" so to speak. Personally, I'd never call him a fluffer to his face.
oh Im sure I would if I were drinking tequila. Thats why I don't drink tequila. If you enjoy getting hit for talking smack with 1/2 your motor skills too a guy twice your size....thats your drink.
I'm sorry , but this is just stupid. Hughes should be retired, and Hardy should not be in the UFC at all. I admit, he is much more favorable than Bisping, but...he is not complete enough, and has lost the 3 in a row requirement to be out. Don't get me wrong, I really like the guy. But fair is fair...3 strikes and your out....And as for Hughes...I hate the guy , but seeing as Hardy has no TDD...easy win for Matt as long as he don't get caught. If he is smart, he would shoot right out the gate, but frankly I think they both should be somewhere else.
Hughes gets the respect but he really does need to retire and coach wrestling or something.
I don't want to see this fight. A legend very-possible retirement or a entertaining fighter banishment from the ufc isn't a good fight to see.
Hardy has lost 4 in a row not 3
I thought Hardy was looking for work??
So now he wants to try to beat up on a legend in Hughes, who has obviously seen better days, and Hardy probably figures he can take advantage of this and knock him out too.
Way to go after the big fights Hardy, you arrogant Pr*ck.
Hardy beats Hughes.
Gets immediate title shot just for being a brit.
EyE! Kizz ma arse ya bloke!
lets see, hughes takes hardy down, hardy taps, dana shows hardy the door.
Beware for Mr.Runner arms YOU CANT SUB ME! WAR! bend bend flex
Damn messed it all up by spelling rubber wrong
Horrible PR, Hardy, horrible PR. Calling out and talking crap on a hall of famer is not going to win you any fans.
Also, I seriously doubt Hardy's wrestling will be improved enough to stop Hughes takedowns, so he better get a KO fast.
