On a deeper level, you can do a google search for videos of each fighter.
Take notice of their principals, are they BJJ or MuyThai, or wrestlers? Boxers? how good are they at their principal. Do the two fighters styles match up well? Who can get a takedown most frequently?
Even tho I hve only seen one fight of Duffee's i'm gonna go wit him, the 7 sec KO could have been a fluke but just look at this guy he looks like a monster and I read somewhere he has a great ground game to go wit his KO power
Of course you're right. Russow has packed away over a dozen fights, against nobody worth mentioning, but he only lost one of them. 12:1, that's smart for an MMA fighter to pace themselves and learn before being thrown to the wolves.
Duffee though... We've only gotten to see 7 seconds of him in the UFC because in his first fight, he scored the fastest knockout in UFC history. He APPEARS to be a stud, he should eventually be an upper-level contender (they'll give him a few fights, simply because the top HW contenders are all so clearly defined and positioned. There are a lot of awesome HW fights lined up, people are going to have wait in line.)
Shane Carwin is known for putting people to sleep in the first round, his fastest KO ever was a very impressive 22 seconds, in a pre-UFC fight. Duffee has also knocked out all of his opponents in the 1st round. His very first fight ever was a 15 second KO. He slowed it way down for his second fight though, it was 16 seconds. Then he sets the UFC all-time-record fastest win, in his debut? All of this suggests that 1) He is physically a monster, and 2) Strong mental focus, most fighters look timid in their first UFC fight, it's intimidating.
And, only an idiot would bash Shane Carwin, I'm not. He'd agree with everything I said, he's a very intelligent respectful guy with no shortage of candor.
Well I think Duffee is going to win but there is still a lot that we don't know about him and Duffee comes from boxing while Russow is a wrestler/bjj guy. So there is definitely a good chance that Russow can get a decision or submit Duffee which is why I picked the massive underdog Russow in my lowpick, i do however give Duffee a slight edge to win maybe 60/40.
60:40 Krogan?... Right now the lines I'm seeing on the fight have Duffee at -350. If you bet on Duffee to win this fight, you have to bet $350, to win $100. I'd bet the farm.
You're right about the wrestling though. Duffee said it is his biggest regret. He sees how important it is for an MMA fighter, and he wishes he had been raised on the sport through school. It's also why I expect he might get a couple extra warm-up fights, nobody will ever beat the top UFC HW contenders, if they cannot wrestle. Francis might have the most agile HW JJ in MMA... And no wrestling, he was helpless and defenseless. Duffee can't fight Shane, or Cain, or Lesnar, until he's learned to wrestle.
He's such a wrecking machine though, and from what the people who know him and have trained with him have to say, he's legit. I'd like to see him fight JDS, no big wrestling disadvantage for him there.
We didn't really get to see a lot of Duffee with his, what was it?, a seven second KO, but some of the top trainers seem to agree that this guy is the real deal and a true up and coming prospect fast on the rise, to be honst, Russow is a bit of an unknown quantity to me, i've seen a bit of tape on him but nothing too revealing about what level he is at currently, you don't accumilate a 12-1 record by fighting like a pansy though i'm sure, tomato cans or not. I don't see Duffee having too much trouble to be honest but that's just my opinion. The UFC's HW division is getting more and more stacked all the while,....but GOD, there's some AWESOME fights coming our way....what a time to be an MMA fan eh?.........
I have to go with Duffee from what I've seen so far. He has given us plenty of reasons to believe that he is going to be a HW contender. Russow is no joke either, but it appears that Duffee is probably on another level. This is what makes MMA so exciting because none of us REALLY know what will happen when they step into the cage, we can only make assumptions and predictions.

I don't even know these people, so how am I sopossed to predict what is going to happen?
