i dont think anyone can defeat a 100% Shogun in the LHW division, the best chance would be either Rampage or Lil Nog

watch the fight again if u think the reason Shogun won is cause of soccer kicks, rampage threw like 2 punches the whole fight and shogun destroyed him for about 7 mins with knees and punches and then when rampage was completely done Shogun kicked him 2 times on the ground

No kidding. The guy is an incredible fighter and was a great champion. Even though I was routing for Shogun and was excited that he won, you have to give Machida all the respect in the world. He's a respectful fighter and a great ambassador of the sport.

Having a brain and common sense means yes I respect his ability but I don't respect his piss drinking. Why not just eat the stuff that gave you the piss in the first place and without the waste which your body will just make waste again. Just because he is a champion won't make me respect an idea that is plain senseless. Good fighter does not mean good ideas. But again I do respect his ability and he is generally respectable but man if he jumped off a bridge into shark infested waters and cinderblocks tied to his ankles I wouldn't be in line to try it out. Nothing against ston3pony as I agree he is right in his reply.

Well there is a theory behind it, they believe its like a vaccine, you know how antidote is made out of venom, that kind of thing. But personally I don't see any difference in drinking piss and thinking it will help you or praising god for your win. And honestly at least Machida doesn't go "Now everybody drink piss with me!" after a fight unlike Smooth Henderson.

Also there is the placebo effect which is proven to work, if you think something will work it is much more likely to do so.

Bader would be a good match-up. Rashad would be doing his gold-fish impression again. Rampage is too slow for Lyoto... Franklin or Lidell is an unfair step-down.

John Jones would be epic. Lyoto has not faced a real wrestler yet. Rashad can wrestle, but he didn't try to use it. Maybe in the rematch he would. I would love to see him fight Jones though, or Bader. Bader has a chance to beat him.

I was just saying about bader. I believe Bader had sick takedowns and a godzilla punch. His neck muscles look mean man.Rashad will try and take rampage down believe me. Rampage will get 2nd or 3rd rd ko. Jon jones is a beast and he should fight bader or the winner of liddel and franklin.light heavy weights is looking sweet

Interesting becuase you actually contradict yourself when you say Rashad would just get knocked out again but then goes to say that might not be the case if Rashad uses his wrestling. You might want to watch Rashad's last fight where he won with takedowns.

I actually think the real question in Rashad vs Rampage is if Rampage can stop the takedowns.

Bader vs Jones could be a headline PPV fight, it wouldn't be because they're not headline fighters yet. But, it would be as good as any title fight (Carwin vs Lesnar is another great matchup of wrestlers, can't wait).

Don't count Lyoto out on wrestling though. He might surprise us in that situation where we all find out that he is am amazing wrestler, we just hadn't seen it. He competes in Sumo, you can see it in his takedowns and his evasiveness. He knows how to manipulate his opponents center of gravity (he took Tito down like it was Tito's first day or something), he's very aware of his center of gravity. That's what you get from wrestling, incredible balance. I don't know if he can hang with Bader when it comes to wrestling. But, he trains Sumo, he won't be helpless.

He should be back in against the very best. The only person to ever hit him cleanly in years is Shogun. Give him Rampage win or lose against Rashad (who lyoto beat). Besides rampage has already lost to Shogun. PLEASE don't let Randy fight Shogun. Is this the future of UFC? Get a popular champ then give him BS fights? Randy isn't even top 10-15 ranked. But, I'm guessing Dana will allow it giving Shogun a presumed easy title defence, so he can better market is former model champ ...

The fu(ked up thing is that despite not deserving a title shot, there is a good chance Randy would manhandle Shogun and grind out a victory. Think about it. Randy out wrestled Brock. Who at 205 can compete with his wrestling? Maybe Jon Jones?

Forget rankings and numbers and just think about style and ability. Randy can grind out a decision against anyone at LHW. It might not happen every time and there are some people who could stay away from him long enough to out point him with strikes or get a tko/ko but on any given day Randy can still out grind any of these guys including Rua.

to me he looked uncomfortable being aggressive the reason why rogan said "welcome to the machida era " was due to his style and not taking any damage in his ufc fights. smashing t silva and evans who are tough opponents. machida let the fans, dana and the controversy of the first fight get to him imo. he should have made adjustments to his style to do what he does best which is counter instead he tried to aggressive and paid the price. i'm taking nothing away from rua doe the real champ finally has his belt imo

he should face the loser of rashad v rampage, rashad and rampage are ranked 3-4 LHWs. the best out come for the UFC "promotion" wise would be rashad lossing, you could then have rampage rematch shogun and rashad rematch machida, redemtion etc.... sells well. i think alot of people are underesstimating rampage, i think this long break will have been great for him allowing him to give his tendons, muscles, bones, and joints a period of "rest" and time to heal any lingering issues.

i personally hope the next 2 lhw matches end up being, Shogun v Anderson Silva, then Shogun v Rampage.

i would like also to see Evans v Machida, Evans is a smart fighter i doubt that he hasn't noticed some area's in Machida's game that he might be able to attack. it would also be interesting to see if this defeat has shaken Machida's mind, talented or not sometimes a loss just sends a guy down the road of a handfull of pitty party defeats.

i mean what is machida thinking? he did all the right things, trained hard, drank piss, what went so wrong and could it go wrong again.

it will go wrong again for machida 1 day i doubt he win another 10 + fights in a row. he was always beatable imo.as shogun has proved in the first fight also rashad evans almost caught machida with the same over hand right in their fight(watch it again if you disagree).

his biggest asset is his unique style combined with counters he doesn't have the talent advantage like a silva in the MW division. shogun figured it out and executed brilliantly. and you can forget about Anderson silva v any Lhw until 2011

i think the best option would be a double rematch card

    shogun v rampage

Machida v evans if rampage wins i think both fights will happen even if there not on the same card

The only problem is that Rampage is gonna rape Rashad so he isn't a choice. Bader would be interesting. I would personally like to see him get in some more wins, so that we know for sure he is legit. Maybe give him Jon jones as an opponent, that wopuld be good. Two tops contenders fight it out for title shot.

Well what we want and what is actually set to take place are two different things. If Machida wants to get his champ status back then its gotta be the loser of the #1 contender match. Obviously the winner will fight Rua so it cant the winner of Rampage vs Evans. I am a big fan of both Rampage and Evans, but I think alot of people are just plain selling themselves short by not giving Evans a chance in this match....Evans has one loss on his record!! ONE! He wasnt fighting slouches either. So I am excited to see that match, as there is absolutely no clear winner.

Yea, thats already all but official. Unless something goes wrong or they under perform in that match the winner gets Rua. I think Machida should fight the loser and then the winner of that should face whoever is deemed to be a top contender next and then you would have ur next #1 contender following the winner of the Rua vs Rampage or Evans... Wait.......Did any of that make sense? haha

I feel bad for Lyoto's eye. Ouch! but I would like to see him fight Belfort and Jones before he gets a title fight again. I dont really think rashad or rampage can handle Shogun right now or Lyoto for that matter. Rampage cant take kicks as seen in his fight with Forrest and we already saw rashad get handled by Lyoto so the winner of that fight (rashad/rampage) shouldn't yet be title contenders. But I think Lyoto will just come back stronger like so many great fighters do after losses. They grow and evolve or you die off and Lyoto will certainly grow.

Jones also smashed Matt Hamill. He got DQ'd because the elbows were unintentionally illegal. But they had to almost carry Hamill out, looked like he was in a bad car accident. And Jones took him down effortlessly. Nobody does anything like that to Matt Hamill.

Jones would have a good chance against Lyoto.

Only Shogun can beat Lyoto Machida - Lyoto will destroy anyone else in the division - I think Lyoto can beat Shogun thats why in my eyes he is still the best 205 pound fighter in the world - If lyoto doesnt get that belt back we could be looking at Anderson Silva holding 2 maybe even 3 belts hate him or love him he's untouchable and if Machida isnt champ he'll swoop in and take the UFC by storm - Shogun's a great fighter but Anderson is untouchable god help the 205 pound fighters because Anderson will be swooping in!!!
