A title shot makes no sense right now, Cain is ahead of him in the line and he is only after the winner of Mir and Carwin. The only fight that makes sense for Santos right now is Cain thou we won't see that until after Mir vs Carwin as Cain stands as reserve still.
Jr. should drop down 2 the D-leagues for one fight, knock out fat ass fedor, but decline his minor league belt & return back 2 the UFC, about that time he should be up 4 a title shot.
JDS VS TONEY. I BELIEVE THIS WILL MAKE FOR A GREAT FIGHT. SANTOS HAS THE POTENTIAL TO KNOCK OUT THE VETERAN BOXER...ONLY PROBLEM IS THAT DOS SANTOS IS NOT WELL-KNOWN BY MANY MMA FANS AND PROBABLY MOST BOXING FANS...I DON'T THINK THEREFORE THAT HE WILL BE SELECTED FOR THE MISSION...
The only reason I think more fights is because there's already a list waiting for Lesnar, so obviously I don't want this entertaining talent just sitting idle waiting and then Valasquez right up in the mix after his K.O of Nog, I think JDS vs Valasquez is the only logical option and when he wins and I do mean WHEN then title shot... Cain's got improving hand game no doubt BUT theres no way it'll be where it'd needa be to K.O Dos Santos by next fight. and while JDS isn't wrestling like Cain he's got a camp that can prepare him for anything and all he has to do is stay off the mat long enough to land that punch...
JDS is plowing through competition, but one more fight would solidify his case for a title shot. The obvious opponent right now seems like Cain, but I think it all hinges on who wins the Mir-Carwin fight and the injuries that may result.
Cain looks smooth and both he and JDS could use one more fight but it wouldn't be good for the UFC to have them fight each other. In a perfect world Cain would fight Mir & Carwin would fight JDS and the winners would fight for the title shot......
the only other respectable opponents for them other than each other is Congo or Big Nog - lets just hope they keep making good fights!!
The title will be tied up till the summer, and the winner of that fight will have atleast 4 months inbetween the next defense, which puts us in fall-winter, everyone want to see JDS vs Cain put it on the Lesnar Title fight card, so who ever wins between JDS, and Cain will get a title shot, plus they will have the same amount of time as the new champ to prepare for that fight.
get in line Junior! Under normal circumstances I think Dos Santos would be getting his title shot, but the problem is that there are at least 3 other guys who have earned their title shot and are waiting to get it.
The only fight that makes sense is for Junior to fight the loser of Carwin and Mir. If he wins he gets a title shot, however if he loses then the winner (Carwin or Mir) will have another fight to go before a title shot.
