I think Jon "Bones" Jones is an extremely talented fighter, and from his last win over Vera I think he has a good chance. He is very unorthodox and I think that is fun to watch personally. By unorthodox I mean he uses strikes which other fighters would only use in desperation (i.e. spinning elbow, back-fist, etc.)
I don't think he should, he has to atleast beat 1 top ten LHW, until he beats Griffin, Thiago Silva, Rampage, Evans, Machida, Franklin, or Lil Nog he shouldn't get a title shot
How the hell can this fight be for a title shot when Rashad has already been granted that!? Also the champ is injured so maybe him and Rashad could fight for an interim title??
This really should not have been posted as a serious topic....
he would ground and pound thaigo, he would train with rashad to smash rampage, he would do the same thing the spider did to frankilin, lil nog has bad experiences with wrestlers, and well he cant fight evans
I agree forsure!! Gotta beat a top ten contender first...then yeah, I think he should get a title shot. Better get one soon before Anderson relinquishes the middle weight belt! Wasn't there talk of him moving up to 205 and relinquishing the belt? I'm sure there was...
If Jones does even some of the stuff you just said I would agree he should get a title shot but by beating Vladmir there is no way he should get a shot and as for Griffin, ppl need to stop hating on him, ya he got his ass beat against Silva but the lvl of competition he faces is far beyond then most mma fighters, he faced Shogun, then Rampage, then Evans and then Silva...losing to anyone of those guys isn't bad but he infact he beat 2 of them and thats a hell of an accomplishment
well talking about underestimating, dont you think you underestimating lil nog, rampage,Griffin,Evans,Franklin and silva. im not saying that jon jones cant beat them but you make it sound like these guys are nothing against jones and i dont think so.
yes and no , one can easily say hes still undefeated and he has beat everyone he was fight , but at the same time i would like t see Jones get more experience and fight 2 more times before he get the title fight
I think it's justifiable but I don't think Dana will let it happen because he is saving jones for later. I feel jones is a threat to shoguns belt and i feel anyone else in the division is in for the fight of their life against this guy. Dana will want to milk some of the other top guys before he lets their possible ruin come. Jones is for a later date I believe.
No not if he wins this fight. I think the UFC is doing the right thing building him up first it's kind of how they did Chuck in the day before he got his 1st shot at the belt. Jones has a chance to be the face of that division in the upcoming years and the UFC knows that so there going to take there time giving him a shot so he can develop even more. But even if he did win this fight he shouldn't get a shot he needs 1 big win over someone like Jackson, Machida, Couture, Franklin, or Griffin.
I agree with ALI and IChokePeople...people love the ride that hype gives you and they count out their opponents. Matyushenko is tough as nails and wrestling is his bread and butter not to mention IFL's LHW champion
I say no. Should he win this fight, Jones should fight a top contender and an ex champ first, perhaps Thiago Silva followed by Lyoto Machida. Then, if he successfully fights opponents like them, give him a shot at Rua or whoever holds the title at that time.
No. Matyushshenko isn't even in the league of Chuck or Tito and they aren't even in the title picture. He would have to get two big wins, probably Jackson and Michida.
vlady lost to tito already years ago, but nowadays chuck and tito are more washed up then vlady, vlady has managed to keep his same skillset if not get better over the years... matyushenko would beat liddell and tito both i think today
i say he fights a top 5 or so contender after this upcoming fight and if he dominates that top 5 or so contender person then give him the title shot. Theres really not a clear top 5............i might be wrong cuz i just woke up and am sleepy and cant think correctly
i like how people who i guess hate me weak me? cuz im saying what everyone below this comment is saying and they are getting sharps and cools. F the hater who weaked me >=| and everyone else weaking this comment cuz i complained about getting weaked but my complaint is different in that im not crying about it and i know this is long and if u read this whole thing then you should pat urself on the back for putting up with nonsense but then again most comments made are words equaling nonsense right?
I personally think he is ready, but having said that it also makes sense that he should probably defeat a top 5 205er first before a title shot. The other day I went off on some post about how great I think JJ is and got like 25 WEAK on my comment. Am I missing something? I firmly believe that JJ is the future at 205. I think he has the tools to beat Rampage, Machida, Evans(though I doubt they'll fight), and I think in a year or so he could give Shogun a lot of trouble. OK give me 25 WEAKS like last time..... whatever
Jones can have a title shot if he dominates vladamir. but if he just wins with a decent performence, give him another fight and if he wins that one he can have the title shot as well.
If Jones wins this fight, his schedule would fall in sync perfectly with Machida's return. If he gets the fight with Machida and wins, that will definitely end all the hype talk and there will be no such thing as lucky punches. If you want to beat Machida, your skill has to be insanely high. This would be a true test for Bones. Winner of this fight would get a title shot.
This is such an ignorant post...I usually like this guy's posts but this is just stupid. What has he done to deserve a title shot outside of beat Vera? Matyushenko is a tough fighter but he's not top 10 and sure as hell doesnt warrant a title shot if hes beaten...when Jones goes and beats top names that hold weight like Rashad, Rampage, Forrest, Machida and Thiago Silva then yeah he's earned it but not through Matyushenko. Right now Jones has a ways to go before we start talking about title shots...common sense

i think Vladimir will pull the upset. don't count him out.
Definitely possible.

No. One more big fight then a title shot.
I wanna see clean out all, before belt, he is a beast
What I think if Jon Jones wins this fight he should fight Rashad for the LHW Interim Title

you get weaked because...... you are weak, it makes perfect sense lol
Oh personal attacks now.... neat. Are you 12?
Jon Jones FTW
song anyone?
The song is Animal Rap by Jedi Mind Tricks off their album Visions of Gandhi.
Greatest rap group you never heard. Top 5 all time IMO with a huge body of work from 1998 until present.

hell yeah he should get a title shot, I think he has what it takes to be a great champion
Put him against Franklin, I would love to see that match
blah blah....he needs to fight a top ten this and that. Jones IS a top ten guy. I would go as far as top 5 with the way he has been fighting.
This is such an ignorant post...I usually like this guy's posts but this is just stupid. What has he done to deserve a title shot outside of beat Vera? jones is much more talented. he's got this.
