TBH I think Kimbo's ground game will have improved a whole lot before the mittrione fight, he obviously has great stand up, BUT only time will tell if he has the heart of a champ, if he does then well done kimbo, it takes a lot to enter a sport with no experience and come out a champ. Either way I still like watching him knock mother f*ckers out
I think , if he beats mitrione in an impressive fashion , like sub or ko.
HE will be in the top 5 of the HW division.
hahahahahahahha just kidding.
I like kimbo he is a nice guy , hope he wins , and ,the fans dont really care if he is title contender or in the bottom of the HW division , we just like to see him fight , cause he is entertaining and funny .
And Its like an american movie , a poor guy from the street who fights to get his daily bread , gets his chance to become pro fighter .
he cant really be a gatekeeper, id consider veterans whose careers to be winding down gatekeepers, which i dont think kimbo is...i think hes good enough to be on the main cards but he wont be champ
He weighed in at 212, first of all. And he was totally gassed in the second round. He can NEVER make 205, he has no body fat. Houston alexander is a very big 205'er, and kimbo looked SO much bigger than him.
Wow, I thought u were just kidding around when I first started reading but uhhhhh nope, u are really freaking out about him being off by a pound. Lol, I thought I was temperamental!
MMAOracle your the idiot, houston alexander is a small 205, when he first started with the UFC he was weighing in at 201-203 lbs without cutting, so shut up cause your the idiot you speak of
You are right. Lesnar basically stepped right into title contention (well almost - he certainly didn't work his way up) because he was a personality and Dana knew the Lesnar product would sell. If Kimbo is marketable enough Dana will put him in a championship match - as crazy as it may seem.
cardhead liner i dont think bimbo could **** with the top contenders in the heavyweight div, cain, santos, mir, carwin, even possibly kongo would **** him up,so bimbo wont be a contender in heavyweight as long as these fighters are there,he should prob move down 4 safety reasons, lol!!!!!!!!!
as long as he puts on a good show, i think he can always be an attraction. the ufc might not match him well in the future for him to progress. if they do, he can gain the experience on the ground and get comfortable in the cage. i don't think he will win the title or even fight for it, but if he stays exciting he'll always have a following
i think kimbo could headline a ufc fight night event but not ppv as a contender or champ.people like mir will be heavyweight gate keepers.either way i just want to see kimbo evolve as a fighter and i think he will regardless of the outcome ufc 113
Kimbo will either fight bums, or he will be cut. One out the two. Maybe you could call him a gatekeeper, because kicking his ass will give you a name. The UFC might use him for that.
I think if you look at the Houston Alexander fight you definitely could make the argument that Kimbo looked very sharp & considerably improved.
Make no mistake, Kimbo has displayed the kind of maturity to asses his 'house' and make the necessary adjustments to his game that will allow him to maximize his remaining high earning athletic years.
If Kimbo can continue to develop his ground attack and protect his arthritic knees I feel he definitely can move himself into title contention within the year.
Personally, Mitrione's antics reveal his lust to play the game. I'm certain he will give a great showing but Kimbo will smash his '15 minutes' come fight night.
How will Kimbo fair against Cain Velasquez's ground onslaught? He'll get smashed! However, has the advantage standing. Against Carwin? Brock? We'll see. Kimbo faces literally f*ing giants in that division but at the end of the day that's what it's all about: Facing the mountain and seeing if you can conquer it.
I don't know how well Kimbo would ever stack up to those guys on a technical level but I would be willing to bet that despite the size difference Kimbo is stronger. Look at how much lean muscle is packed on to that guy. Brock's got a lot of fat on him and even Carwin is probably around 10- 15% body fat. He would always have a punchers chance.
I like Kimbo; I must admit he grew on me while he was on the show and he's seems to be a very nice guy. And I agree with most posting here, that he has improved and will continue to improve and could be a real force to be reckoned with.
However and with that said, I don't think Kimbo has any chance @ HW. If you match him up against anyone one of significance in that division...SC, BL, CV, JR. DS, FM et. al. ...he gets killed; KS wouldn't beat any of those guys. So, with that said, why is KS @ HW? To me he should be fighting @ 205 and at that weight, he might do very well, but HW for KS...makes no sense in the long run; heck, he wouldn't beat Big Country.
Either way, I know one thing, there's no quit in Kimbo; I have no idea why that was an option. Sure, he might lose some fights and get cut, but he won't quit; don't see that happening.
Comments
He weighed in at like 211 when he fought Houston. To me his future should be at LHW, not HW.

He cut to 211 for 3 days as shown in those prefight videos. Hes really around 230
Well consider for a moment that Anderson walks around at about 220, at 230 Kimbo wouldn't even be on of the heaviest LHW.

Its a nice story . hahahaha

I don't think in the size and shape that Kimbo is in right now that he will go in LightHeavyWeight.
He would have to cut a lot of his muscle mass to get in to that division and would not be as strong and heavy handed like he is right now,
I say he should stay at 230.
He weighed in at 212, first of all. And he was totally gassed in the second round. He can NEVER make 205, he has no body fat. Houston alexander is a very big 205'er, and kimbo looked SO much bigger than him.
Man there is a bunch of idiots on this site.
hes going to win the HW championship and then drop down to 205 and make a run for the title
Wow, I thought u were just kidding around when I first started reading but uhhhhh nope, u are really freaking out about him being off by a pound. Lol, I thought I was temperamental!
go easy on the roids, bro... ur getting to angry over nothing...

Title contender? Please.
Stop hating lol
I agree that it is a bit ridiculous to ask about title contention but hey, weirder things have happened.
While he could make either weight IMO, he's safer at HW with his hands. Less threat of take downs against the UFC HW class vs the LHW.
Yeah like Brock Lesnar getting a T-Shot after defeating Heath Hearring..
You are right. Lesnar basically stepped right into title contention (well almost - he certainly didn't work his way up) because he was a personality and Dana knew the Lesnar product would sell. If Kimbo is marketable enough Dana will put him in a championship match - as crazy as it may seem.
In that weight he would have to worry about; Liddel, Tito, Shogun, Machida ect.
onestly... i think he would get raped in LightHeavyWeight
champion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thats was a joke people!!!!
cardhead liner i dont think bimbo could **** with the top contenders in the heavyweight div, cain, santos, mir, carwin, even possibly kongo would **** him up,so bimbo wont be a contender in heavyweight as long as these fighters are there,he should prob move down 4 safety reasons, lol!!!!!!!!!
if kimbo hasn't improved u might catch him in the spike tv prelims, lol
MOve down? there is much better fighters in LHW then HW. He is safer as a HW
I don't even think he can move down to LightHeavyWeight anyways
None really. He'll just be a contender really but not for a title
as long as he puts on a good show, i think he can always be an attraction. the ufc might not match him well in the future for him to progress. if they do, he can gain the experience on the ground and get comfortable in the cage. i don't think he will win the title or even fight for it, but if he stays exciting he'll always have a following

SERIOUSLY!!!!........Acctually that would be pretty cool.
Still....I really don't think he will hold the title, but it would be unreal if he did.
Also I don't think he will quit MMA after all the hard work he has been through with the TUFF Show and the hassle of even getting here in the octigon
Anything is posible in UFC fake wrestler for champ Kimbo can do it to
Kimbo will either fight bums, or he will be cut. One out the two. Maybe you could call him a gatekeeper, because kicking his ass will give you a name. The UFC might use him for that.
Fall Down.
No option for champion?
But seriously I think his future should be at LHW and at LHW he could become a contender.
i guess gatekeeper but i really dont think he is good enough for that position
With all the guys in HW like Cain, JDS, I doubt he will be in line for a title shot. But I can definitely see him headlining a card in the future.
Kimbo is in the LHW not HW right now you dumbo.
I think if you look at the Houston Alexander fight you definitely could make the argument that Kimbo looked very sharp & considerably improved.
