This past week was a very busy one for the UFC with a great number of fights being announced. With all the activity throughout the week, one item that may have slipped through the cracks was the news that Cung Le would be moving to the UFC and fighting Vitor Belfort at UFC 139.

In July, Le, speaking to MMAWeekly.com, expressed a desire to fight for the UFC, specifically saying he wanted to fight for the UFC in San Jose on the November 19 card. The fight will be Le’s UFC debut after fighting exclusively for Strikeforce since 2006, compiling a record of 7-1.

Le, the former Strikeforce Middleweight Champion recently spoke about his upcoming UFC debut.

"I'll be in San Jose for UFC 139 and I'm fighting Vitor Belfort. I'm very excited and honored to be a part of the UFC. I want to thank Dana White and Lorenzo Fertitta for the opportunity and I'm going to fight my heart out. What Vitor says doesn't bother me. He can talk all he wants. We'll take care of business on November 19. Let him talk. I don't like to talk so he can do all the talking. I'll let him have that job and we will work it out in San Jose. Vitor is very dangerous, but I'm very dangerous too. We have two dangerous guys in the ring and we are going to see which one of us is more dangerous." – for the full interview see Heavy.com.

Bang on. I think Vitor will swarm him and KO him very early. This fight is marketable but I feel bad for Vitor because it's a huge step down again. Cung Le is a) incredibly rusty, b) not really an MMA fighter, he's a glorified kickboxer [albeit a very good one] and c) way to small to be at MW.

I think Vitor should have been given a fight with Okami to work out who's third/fourth in the division after the Sonnen/Stann result

Scott Smith KO'd this guy. Vitor will have no trouble doing the same. He's bigger, faster and hit's way harder.

Cung LE should be fighting at WW. In reply to the Scott Smith loss, Cung Le bossed him for the entire fight and exhausted himself and got caught. In the rematch he made no mistake.

I think MW is a bad choice for Cung Le as WW is his natural division IMO but I guess we'll see how he goes at MW. Am very excited to see him back in action. His style is very entertaining to watch. He will need to brush up on his ground game a little for UFC though.

Nothing against Cung, but this is kind of a slap in the face for Belfort. I figured he would get a top ranked opponent and then a second crack at Silva if he won that fight.

Belfort prob would have gotten a top 10, but they're all slated to fight. Cung LE is an interesting addition to the MW roster, provided the size disadvantage doesn't affect him too badly.

I am intrigued by this fight. While Cung is not officially ranked, his strength is standup--and it is Belfort's also. Le may not be ranked, but that is much due to non-participation in MMA, and doing movies instead.

I was impressed when I saw Cung Le fight--and I am uncertain whether he only looked good because he was a big fish in a small pond or a tough fighter who can make it to the top levels of the UFC.

All I can say is that I am genuinely curious about this match.
