Brock Lesnar and Alistair Overeem will headline the stacked UFC 141 fight card set to take place this Friday night from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. But, before the giants go to war, two Lightweight scrappers will go head to head in the co-main event.

In what will be his 5th fight this year, WEC transplant, Donald Cerrone (17-3), will look to remain perfect inside the octagon when he meets an equally game Nate Diaz on Friday. Diaz (14-7) made the cut to 155-pounds after being out-wrestled by a noticeably larger Rory MacDonald in April, and has since bounced back with a dominant win over Takanori Gomi at UFC 135. With each competitor's sights set firmly on UFC gold, their paths to a title shot will cross this weekend in Vegas.

I am as pumped to see Cerrone vs. Diaz as I am to see Overeem vs. Lesnar.

I am afraid the Alistair/Brock fight might look similar to the Alistair/Fabricio fight--but I am pretty certain the Nate/Cowboy fight will be intense--standing or on the ground.

Nate is good enough to fight at WW against many opponents, but LW is more his natural weight class IMO.

I am looking forward to this card.

yea, Nate didnt have enough mass when he fought in the higher division, it was obvious. If he was naturally heavier than that, he might have done ok against Rory. He has the same build as Nick exactly and it took Nick a long time also to gain weight naturally without lifting. When you train so hard to start to actually build your mass through high impact training, its strength that many others dont see.

I agree! It is gonna be hard for Brock and The Reem to put on a more exciting show than Nate and the Cowboy!

Looks like the Cowboy's got it in for Nate! Man this should be a heck of a fight, no matter where it goes. I hope one of these guys can get a decisive win without letting it go to the judges.

That's the only place that I don't want this fight to go. Both these guys have a history of getting screwed in that area.

I agree but it is hard to imagine it will go to the judges. I think Cerrone will do Nate "cowboy style" and that, my friends, won't be pretty to watch. Turn away.

When was the last time that Nate didn't make it out of the first round? I might be mistaken, but I don't think that Nate has been stopped in a fight yet.

Cowboy is making some pretty bold claims by saying that Nate will be lucky to make it to the second round. Sometimes those kinds of statements come back and bite you in the but.

This should be a great fight but I just don't see Nate being able to impose his will. Cerrone is a bigger stronger more technical fighter in the standup. Nate has a slight edge on the ground but I think it will take its toll on him and he will be dominated by the second round. Nate's a tough kid though. Can't wait.

Just me, or do others think that Nate smacking Cerrone's hand away is comedy? I do like the "209" mentality of the Diaz Brothers going into a FIGHT. But, if you watch Nick/Nate after a fight, they go over to the opponent and help them up, shake there hands, etc. I think that is how they get jazzed up before a fight, they don't want to know who they are fighting, or be "soft" in anyway, by making friends.

Cerrone is a G, some of the best striking at 155. What he did to Siver made me jump off the couch. When he holds that head kick after the low kick for just a split second than finishes it, and connects!!! HAM!

I love both these fighters and have been a fan of both since I first saw them fight. Regardless of who wins, I hope DW, Silva, Fertita, or whoever, gives them the next shot at the title.

Cerrone will win via TKO. This year has been brilliant year for him. It is going to be a brilliant fight, but I just cant see his streak ending yet. Cerrone is a bigger and better striker, if it stays standing, should be an early fight for diaz.
