According to Cain Velasquez' American Kickboxing Academy coach, Javier Mendez, former UFC Heavyweight champion suffered no injuries following his victory over Antonio Silva back at UFC 146, and will be ready to face Junior dos Santos in September.

Recent rumors suggested Cain Velasquez has a broken hand, and will need a surgery that could postpone the long-anticipated rematch with dos Santos until early 2013. However, Javier Mendez re-assured fans Cain Velasquez will be fight-fit for the planned UFC 152 headliner (via MMAFighting.com):

"We're looking at Sept. 22 as fight day."

Previous encounter between the two ended in Cain Velasquez losing his title to Junior dos Santos in just 60 seconds. The Brazilian wasted no time, and has successfully defended his title for the first time with an impressive TKO victory over Frank Mir. Velasquez and dos Santos are on collision course again, only that this time "Cigano" is the champion.

UFC 152 is expected to take place at Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, on September 22nd. BJ Penn vs. Rory MacDonald will serve as the co-main event.

I hope Cain brings his pillow(s) this time around, too.

I think they are waiting a while--and may announce one or two big name fights in the card--then hold it at the Toronto Skydome stadium.

With a big card--they could move it from the Air Canada Centre and pack the Skydome again and make 12 million just on the gate.

I think it's funny that some people say JDS' punch on Cain wasn't a fluke, that he actually hits that hard, but then think Mir has a total glass jaw. After Mir lasted almost ten times as long as Velasquez againt JDS, they must think his jaw is made of paper mache.

From what I've been reading, a lot of people didn't want this rematch because of how the first fight went, but I'm very happy this is happening. I personally feel that this is an opportunity to see the great fight that we didn't get to see the first time around. JDS has knocked out a lot of guys, but none of them are as "well rounded" as Cain, leading me to immediately believe that.... "he got caught" and that's not how it will go again. Not to mention although both men fought injured, Cain did not look like himself. His facial expression certainly was one of concern.

I think JDS will have Cain's number again.
