I didn't weak him ( I actually think that fight would be great) but I think that whoever did probably did so because Pettis just lost and Siver is on a three fight win streak including a dominant win against a guy many (including myself) thought had champion potential.
i cant believe people are saying guida is in competition with melendez and miller for the winner of maynard edgar 3, guida is MILES ahead of them two...just look at it on merit, guida beats pettis. wec champion and supposedly the next guy in line, then before that he makes a fool of gomi, 1 of the best LWs of all time and then crushes dos anjos and guggerty! miller may be unbeaten in a while but the calibre of opponents doesnt match up to guidas, and i believe guida would beat miller too.....give him the title shot dana, hes earned it and would be a great champion
If you actually believe that Guida is MILES ahead of Melendez you are insane. Melendez just destroyed Kawajiri who is pretty much Guida's Japanese twin. The split decision was a long time ago and although they have both progressed far I think the outcome would be the same.
i dont underestimate miller, i look at his previous opponents and compare them to the quality of guidas...then i look at the type of fighters he lost to (maynard edgar=wrestlers for the most part) and i look at they type of fighter guida is

A- guida is more deserving than miller right now and
B- guida would beat miller if they fought

also ICP, i understand he destroyed kawajiri, but iv got to be honest i just dont rate kawajiri, i wouldnt consider him a top 15 LW to be brutally honest, and before that melendez didnt fight for a year where he beat aoki, a talented but very 1 dimensional fighter who had a terrible terrible fight...gil could be the real deal, but im not convinced right now and guida has been in there proving that hes the real deal, so again, i think hes more deserving
just to add one other thing in regard to miller, the fight against bendo will tell A LOT about his standing....if he beats bendo comfortably, then ill consider him on a par with guida, not until then though
miller has kept quiet and fought his way to the top without bragging, calling people out, or trash talking. he goes in there handles business against all comers, the man has earned his title shot.

The best thing for Guida to do is to stay active and if he truly is the ##1 contender he should be able to maintain that status for one more fight. Granted, the division is deep and on any given night the top guy might be someone else but it is best to stay active.
