"It's the fact that I've paid my dues in the UFC. It's my time. I'm going to make him pay [his UFC dues] June 4. It's not out of any rivalry or anything like that, but he's going to realize that it's time to step it up.... He has fought some tough guys. He has wins over Shane Roller and Ben Henderson -- they are tough guys. But I've fought the best in the cage.... Pettis is super tough. He's riding a wave of confidence, he's got the kick heard around the world and he's beaten some tough guys. But I know I've fought and lost to tougher guys than him, and I've beaten better guys than him.... I'm going out there guns blazing. I'm looking to finish this fight. It's important to finish this and not leave it in the hands of judges. I don't want there to be a big question mark at the end of this fight." - MMAMania.com

The fight against Anthony Pettis will be Guida's 14th inside the Octagon. "The Carpenter" currently holds a record of 8-5 in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, with notable victories over Takanori Gomi, Rafael Dos Anjos, Nate Diaz and Mac Danzig. Guida is currently on a three-fight winning streak, and may come one step closer to a shot at the Lightweight title, if victorious against Anthony Pettis this weekend at the main event of TUF 13 Finale.

This is going to be a good fight. I'm gonna say that Pettis is the more skilled of the two. Guidas should've added that he's gotten thrashed but better fighters.

Guida definitely has heart but I still think Pettis will win. This is a really big fight for both of them in my opinion.

Guidas pace, heart, and chin will test Pettis. If Pettis dosnt end it in the first couple rounds then Guida will beat him up in the standup and on the ground. Guida has cardio for days and if Ant dosnt bring the same intensity hes gunna lose.

I don't see Guida finishing this fight, he can win if he works some hold em down and land shots keeping Pettis from being able to get up. but I don't see it. Pettis has showed much improved tdd and ground work in every fight previously. I hope Pettis wins this, I really like him as a fighter think he's always entertaining and goes out there really trying to fight every time

Guidais one of th ebest entertaining fighters out there. He puts his body on the line evry fight. Never seen a man get kicked, punched, and bleed so much but still come at his ooponent all pistons firing. Thats why i think he'll win. Ant will get his will broken, either by Guidas neverending nasty gnp or just by Guida wearing him out.

Tougher? Gomi, Danzig, Diaz. All of the above.. Pettis has not fought a tough opponent yet. He was even losing that fight against Henderson until he did that kick.
