Wow, Leben steps in to fight less than three weeks after his last fight?
Someone give this boy a trophy, and make sure this result counts for something. If Leben wins decisively, combined with the pure MANBADASS factor of stepping in to fight someone like Akiyama on such short notice, it should count as two or three wins. One more fight to the title.
Leben, like Tyson Griffin, gets my vote for badass of the year, by taking another fight so quickly. You wonder how many turned it down? This counts big in the UFC, win or lose. Whiteloves that sh*t. Obviously Akiyama, the more technical fighter, will probably need to submit or outpoint Leben in striking to win, which he could very well do. Leben is going to bring it though and I am pretty excited about this fight, even though Wandy would have been great. If Leben pulls this off he is the man for sure.....
He's a really nice guy, man. I really like him. Of all the fighters to come out of TUF, he might be the one to have grown most; in both his professional and personal life. He has really turned it around from the drunk idiot, that was on that show.
I'm picking Chris in his fight, if for no other reason then he's simply tough. You really have to put a beating on this guy to win. YA is a great fighter and no one will be surprised if he beats Chris, but CL is such a trooper, character and gamer and the crowd is sure to be behind him...he could easily pull it off, with one of those big rights.
I’ve lived at Portland city of Oregon for a while and I never forget the Captain of America Randy.C, Mat. L, Chis.L, Chael .S......Moved to live from San Jose for a while among a lot of famous fighters Frank. S .Cung .L ,Josh.Jon Fitch ... and finally, I ended up at AZ next to ASU where is Bader,CJ ....And , I am a big supporter to my hometown fighter ,so I wished Chis Leben win over legend Yoshihiro Akiyama, but must be very tough one to call. imo
Chris Leben has a good chance of winning this. He's a tough guy with a great chin and KO power. Sexyama better watch out. I think it's in Sexyama's best interest to take Chris down to the ground quickly and control him for most of the rounds. Then Sexyama takes it via UD, otherwise the Crippler will show Sexyama why he is called the Crippler if he tries to stand and bang.

Akiyama needs to be smart, watch the loopers. He needs to be patient and pick leben apart little chunks at a time.
