Great submission! You could tell the groin strike pissed him off and gave him the extra rage to overwhelm Escudero!

Very impressed with him last night. Very fast, nice quick leg kicks, throws crazy flying knees, great BJJ. I think he has a very bright future

His stand up at this point while very exciting is a big reckless. I would probably attribute that to his excellent guard and not caring if he's taken down. It can lead to getting tagged though, so as long as his chin holds up he should be fine. And of course at 155 you can still get rocked it's less likely you will see a flash knock out.

i love his recklessness, and he its the best game plan IMO. if your not a very talented striker just be unorthadox. and those kicks are brutal man he times them perfectly and even if he gets taken down its his world.. i dont see many BJJ fighters in the LW divison that can hang with this kid

The dude got hit several time trying all them wild moves. He's gonna be something when he tightens his striking up.

As I said before, this kid, Jose Aldo and John Jones are the clear examples of the future of MMA. Look no further, the future champions are here...

Watch out for this kid. not to say hes going to be a future champ but he literally has INFINITE potential. he needs to get into a great camp and fast. he can be molded into one of the most exciting fighters in LW history. He reminds of of Anthony Pettis but his ground game is on a whole new scale, search some of his BJJ tournaments the kid is insane

Kid was very impressive standing up. He mixed his kicks in with flyn f'n knees and great jabs and hooks from no where. He seemed at times to be a lil overwhelmed by Effrain but he did what he had to when he got the back. Very impressive win by a young fighter. Gunna be a fighter to look forward to in the future.

at no point did i think he was a lil overwhelmed at all. he went in there and had full octagon control throughout. every time they went to the floor, it was because he wanted it there. the kid is a phenom. looking forward to him facing the likes of ken flo, and gomi

I agree. I do not think there was a point in that fight where he felt pressured, panicked, or threatened by Escudero.

Honestly effrain was scared of this guy, i knew it all along, and when he didn't make weight it just confirmed it. effrain wanted to come in alot bigger so his chances of being taken down and submitted was not as likely, but im glad that oliveira submitted him while he was standing up. so big ups to him for pulling off the submission win plus getting the fight of the night bonus, and 20% of effrain's show up money.
