His use of steroids and cheating - I did not assume it. It has clearly been established by CSAC. As to his medical condition, I find the whole contention dubious, to say the least. I would certainly be interested in knowing when it became a medical condition.



I referenced him as a liar - I don't see any cogent defense of him (by you) on that charge. I believe we have a court verdict and penalty that establishes that and it's interesting that you'd raise the issue of Lance Armstrong. Given his statements and denial-of -statement(s) by Sonnen on the subject of Armstrong, I wouldn't have thought any fan or defender of CS would even go there.



As to what he comes across as - he doesn't wow me with his intellect. Yes, he's funny, but in a bullying, loud-mouth kind of way and to be blunt, he should probably lay off of it, by virtue of the fact that his own personal life is a road-apple for derision and ridicule.



As to his patriotism - how, when or where has that ever been established or demonstrated? I have never once heard Sonnen speak of The Constitution, Liberty, Freedom of Speech, limited government, a sound dollar or rail against foreign wars of occupation and empire. To the best of my knowledge, his only real interest in patriotism was running for (state) elected office. To me, that's more about wanting a job, a decent income and having people kiss one's backside. I do not see it as a job of "service" or patriotism.



Sonnen being slightly demented - first, he nor does anyone have a persona. You are not a person, you are a being; a human being to be exact. A persona is nothing more than a legal construct. In regard to him being a slightly demented human being, I am not in disagreement. I think anyone that has done the things Sonnen has been accused of and caught for in this past year, is demented.



Concluding - I say all of this as a former fan of Sonnen's. I defended him through all the allegations, but then the allegations were proven and Sonnen did not have, IMO, an adequate and acceptable explanation of his actions. Subsequently, I have written him off. With Sonnen you never know if he's being honest or lying through his teeth with a big smile on his face. It's why he would have made a natural politician.



I can understand and appreciate your spirited defense of him, but the verdict is in for most of us - he's a cheat and a liar and he'll never be champ of anything; let alone the 185 division.

When athletes get caught with something designed for race-horses in their piss, then you've got yourself a clearly ban-worthy substance.

Testosterone is naturally occuring, whether your levels are low, high, or average.

You're right they are naturally occuring and so should be at natural levels. He has naturally occuring testosterone too and the only reason it would be that way was if he abused such things earlier. A prosthetic limb would not be an advancement in a physical situation compared to a natural arm. Steroid treatment would be an advancement to a normal man. If you cut off your arm for a prosthetic one you would be worse off in the sport but if you took enhancement technologies for your testosterone levels that put you 4 times the regualr level that would be advancing your abilities. Unless the prosthetic limb was a cyborg unit with 5 times the regular strength and manouverability of a regualr limb it is not an advancement to normal human function.

You probably noticed I didn't have to say the term hugger because it's one you always use. Familiarity breeds contempt.

I have used "nuthugger" a grand total of fewer than 10 times in my life, so to say "you always use" it is a bit of a stretch, don't you think?
