Chael Sonnen accepts Anderson Silva's terms: "Brazil it is"

Chael Sonnen has been on a one man mission to do anything he can to goad UFC Middleweight champion Anderson Silva into a fight. He’s made disparaging remarks about him, his country and his wife, he’s called Silva out in the middle of the Octagon in hopes that Silva would take a fight with him in Las Vegas on Super Bowl weekend and for the most part, Silva has taken the high road.

Silva’s tone on the subject changed recently when he, speaking to MMANation.com, said, "I don't like this guy. This guy (wants to) fight me? Go to Brazil. No problem. ... Chael talks too much. I'm ready to fight Chael. But you have the chance – go to Brazil to fight me."

That comeback to Sonnen was offered up on November 16 and Sonnen responded via twitter, “I accept Anderson. Brazil it is. Now then, about that meal...

Rumors are that the UFC will have a fight card in Brazil in June; will it feature a main event between Silva and Sonnen?

    Did Dana approve that?

Last time Brazil was mentioned, he said he needed to get chael out of there alive....win or lose

I think it should be in neutral ground. Especially based on the last fight and how poorly Anderson looked. If anything, Chael should be allowed pick the spot.

Not really, Anderson didn't have to give Chael Sonnen a second chance...

so the least they could do is let Anderson choose the place, fair enough.

which part of being an employee do you not understand...

You make it sound that Anderson has an option to give title shots to whomever he wishes.... Dana even said Anderson doesnt have an option to not fight him...

you really think Dana would fire Anderson for declining a fight?? We're talking about the best fighter in the world, he's rich, he doesn't need a job...Think about it, IDIOT.

He would not fire him, if Silva wants to he could easily get out of the fight...fake an injury or whatever but I can guarantee you if the fight happens then at one point Silva acccepts, for the right or wrong reasons

Chael shouldn't be able to dictate anything but clearly he does. Winning four rounds against AS basically gives you that right.

Anderson has to sign a contract in order to fight Sonnen, he is not forced to fight him if he doesn't want to... but you know he's not a pussy, and I bet they offered so much money that he couldn't decline the deal.

So yeah, Brazil it is bitches, just deal with it now and quit f*cking whining.

it'll be held at the soccer stadium, so they should be able to get a helicopter to get Chael's sorry ass out of there before he gets killed by the crowd.

Brazil will host the 2016 Summer Olympic Games. There was recently a massive raid (interestingly on the same night as JDS won the title - nice distraction) with 3000 soldiers into a hostile drug lord/ slum to try and begin to take back Brazil from areas of lawlessness.

Chael was an Olympic wannabe. He can test out their security. Seriously though, If they can't secure him they can't secure the Olympics.

it's not a matter of can or can't do. Of course they could. It's a matter of want to do it or not.

The UFC better have some bodyguards for Chael and i'm not joking. The amount of soccer players that have had family members killed or kidnapped in Brazil is scary. At the last F1 grand prix kidnappers tried to ambush F1 driver Jenson Button, but he got lucky and got away. Chael can play hard in front of the cameras all he wants but the reality is that there are some some bad motherf***** out there who will do anything for money but Chael has insulted their country and culture, if Chael or the UFC try to suggest his life wouldn't be in danger they'd be dellusional imo. I'm not trying to bash Brazil at all but there that is the reality of the situation

YA i played modern warfare 2 bro, did u see the favalas?! Scary Sh*t!

That aside, your right, it would be dangerous for Chael. However, they would be keeping Chael under 24/7 survellience I bet, or they wont even allow him in there.

If Chael fights in Brazil, he'll need to come up with a pretty good disguise so he can move around freely without the Brazilians going "louco" on his *ss.

My suggestions? He could dress up as Ed Soares (Silva's manager). Everyone's ignored him for years.

Good luck getting to the ring safely Chael.

The timing for this fight seem perfect to give Silva enough time to recover. Not to mention the location.

its gonna be scary for cheal to walk to the octagon, all those arms sticking out at you. id be paranoid of that in a normal situation, but chael in brazil, all those flailing arms will be hostile.

I don't know about him getting hurt before the fight; I mean the Brazilian's being such a proud people are gonna want to keep ole Chael safe for Anderson's fight with him. They want to witness the destruction of that thorn in Silva's side right there in their home of Brazil. If Chael wins.......in Brazil.......I think that is when I'd start to worry. No matter if it comes by decision,KO,TKO, submission or ref stoppage. That's when Chael needs to worry; if he loses, he'll be invited to the victory party, where he will never be heard from again.

IDK if Anderson wants to fight Sonnen in Brazil. My favorite fighter is the Spider but i just dont know if can beat him. Sonnen will be fine in Brazil. He will have so many bodyguards and protection it will be crazy. But i gotta say Sonnen isnt scared of nothing. All the shit he has talked about all the fighters from Brazil. That man is crazy or just stupid.lol
