Chael Sonnen: I'm looking to pick a fight with Anderson Silva and not going to stop
Posted on October 5, 2011, 09:50 PM by Trent ReinsmithChael Sonnen participated in the UFC 136 pre-fight press conference on Wednesday and even though Sonnen was there in preparation for his fight with Brian Stann, there was the inevitable Anderson Silva line of questioning.
Recently Sonnen had some complimentary things to say about the UFC Middleweight Champ. While he was on the UFC 136 media call Sonnen offered the following, “...his wins and losses speak for themselves and the fact of the matter, whether I'd like to admit it or not, is he's done a better job than anybody, he's done a better job than me and he is the champion. “
On Wednesday, when asked if what he does is mostly for marketing purposes Sonnen responded, “I'm out trying to pick a fight. I've been after Anderson for some time. And I've got a beef with everyone in the back that wants a title shot. I've never told Dana I want a title fight, I say I want the title. I'm not scared of that guy, and I'm not going to apologize to that guy. I do appreciate what the Brazilian people said and a lot of (what I said) was said in good fun, but the bottom line is I'm poking my finger in Anderson's chest, I'm looking to pick a fight and I'm not going to stop.”
After Sonnen finished he received some applause from the fans in attendance at the press conference.
While Sonnen is not guaranteed a shot at Silva with a win over Stann, he does need to get past him to even have a chance as the Middleweight Champion.

I said it once and I'll say it again: STOP YELLING!. I see you've mastered copy and paste though. Nice work.
Sonnen Has finally started to soften his stance which is refreshing, but only after being publicly humiliated for theft no less. He has no choice but to tone it down a notch. That being said, we all want a Sonnen vs (healthy) Silva rematch. Chael is a brillant athelete and plays the heel better than most but at the end of the day, myself and many other fans don't want to hear the mouth. Fighters fight, Promoters talk smack.
Show up to work and crush peopleand the fans will adore you.
That being said, I personally think he is a racist, a bigot and would love to see him be humbled. If he said 1/2 of that shit where I come from ( D.C.) he would have been smoked a long time ago, and I'm white( not that that mattered either)

With that said....Chael lost all credibility when he said Okami was going to smash AS. That just proved that 57% of the stuff that comes out of his mouth is complete BS. Chael will beat Stann in a 3 round boring unanimous decision. He will take Stann down at will and get his win. Then a healthy AS will destroy him again and Chael won't have the juice to help him.
So training partners picking their partner to win makes them lose credibility....moron

he tapped once, and wasnt aware that he tapped but in the end agreed that the stoppage was just....I dont know what fight you were watching where he was begging.

Really hoping for Stann in this one. Humble guy with nice boxing and improving BJJ. If Sonnen loses to a triangle I will never stop laughing.
Sonnen by decision,I belive this will look alot like his fight with Marquart.
Chael will never be in the shape mentally or physically he was in when him and Anderson first fought. Anderson only seems to be getting better and doesn't seem to have hit the age wall. The sooner these guys fight the better, regardless what happens on Saturday. Sounds like Chael is coming apart mentally.
There is a lot of sexual tension in the air when Chael disses Anderson..
