Chael Sonnen: Anderson Silva is as phony as Mike Tyson, Arianny has low IQ
Posted on November 28, 2011, 08:02 AM by Anton GurevichSpeaking via Las Vegas Weekly, Chael Sonnen once again targeted Anderson "The Spider" Silva, this time claiming that the reigning UFC Middleweight Champion is "as phony as Mike Tyson" for declining his challenge for a rematch. Sonnen also stated that he was shocked after Anderson Silva disrespected the Brazilian heritage by acting as a coward while sitting cageside at UFC 137.
"Anderson says he wants to get rid of me, and this is his chance. I knew Anderson Silva was a coward. I’m privy to what goes on behind the scenes. I’ve watched him duck and dodge and choose his opponents. He’s as phony as Mike Tyson was. But in a million years, I never thought he would publicly let it be known. I thought if I called him out in the ring and put everything on the line that he would stand up and give me a thumbs up or a nod or he’d send one of his handlers in the back to say he accepted my challenge. In a million years, I never thought he would cower publicly. That’s not his culture. What an insult to the entire heritage of the Brazilian people that Anderson did not accept a challenge. That is not the Brazilian way. I was shocked. I was shocked he sat there and covered his mouth like a little fancy boy instead of standing up and saying, Let’s do this."
The Oregonian also had a choice of words for the veteran UFC Octagon Girl Arianny Celeste. It's not the first time Sonnen targets Arianny, who he considers to have an IQ equivalent similar to the number on the cards she's holding between rounds:
"We only had one and that was Chandella [Powell]. The other was the IQ card girl. Arianny [Celeste] kind of walks around and holds up her latest test score. One time when there was a title fight, she got all the way up to five and we were very proud of her."
Chael Sonnen will host this Wednesday's Fighters Only MMA Awards, which will take place at the Palms Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Many people think Chael Sonnen will use the opportunity to unleash verbal hell on Anderson Silva, Nogueira brothers, Ed Soares, Vitor Belfort, Michael Bisping... and who's not. But, Sonnen re-assures the fans that he's not going to cross the line on Wednesday night, saying that even "fake fighters like Wanderlei Silva can limp their way to the ceremony".

Sonnen calls Anderson a coward.. Chael doesn't seem to remember that the fight ended because he tapped. He quit. He cried "uncle." No Mas. Sonnen quit so he wouldn't go to sleep. He lost that fight and would have been sleeping on the floor if he hadn't have tapped. If Anderson would have gotten a BS decision that night, then Sonnen would have something to say. But he got beat, he quit. End of story.
