Chael Sonnen loses interest in "stupid" questions, walks off interview set

In case you missed the presence of the man with “the largest arm in West Linn,” he recently made a television appearance on TSN’s “OTR,” and, well, it had its moments.
Things start off pretty rocky when interviewer Michael Lansberg accused Sonnen of backing down from the loser leave town offer he extended to Anderson Silva following UFC 136. Sonnen responded to the comment by saying, “You might want to take the bass out of your tone, I’m not sure you know who you’re talking to here, but I’ve never backed down from anything, so check your facts.”
Sonnen then went on to offer his take on what happened with the challenge to Silva, “I made him an offer, apparently it didn't work, he didn't accept it. It's not that I backed down, but apparently I need to present him with a new offer. You guys probably don't do that in socialism, but in America, in a capitalistic society, that's how things work." - for the full interview visit TSN.ca.
Things never really got back on track as Sonnen referred to the line of questioning as “gotcha” and “stupid.” By the ten-minute mark of the interview it seemed Sonnen had had enough and he walked off the set.

His questions sounded really biased and pompous.
Anyone would be frustrated with someone interviewing them trying to be pompous.....I would have left a long time ago.

He did not want to reiterate the fact that he said he would retire. The offer expiring is the same as backing down.
Chael Sonne is behaving like a ten year old kid that knows he has done something wrong as in denial.
Landsberg has had a longer career and probably makes more money then Sonnen. If anything its Chael thats the little show (in comparison of the two).
OTR is a sports show, its not MMA specific so if they ask some basic questions the athlete should roll with it. Thats because the audience isnt all die hard fans and the info might be new to them. What? Sonnen cant take a little heat? hes being interviewed.. its free publicity. He should have answers for these questions. And he should be use to answering question about Silva, Silva is the biggest thing to happen in his career.
If you ask me Sonnen acted like an amateur athlete and was a little pmsy the day of the interview.

This absolutely inept interviewer tried to outsmart and ridicule Chael by asking offensive questions...Anyone would be upset by that. The guy didn't say anything positive about the top 2 MW in the world...You expect these guys to be objective and neutral, esp when an interview is granted for free...

Chael actually goes on shows like espn and claims he is the champ. It was funny in the beginning but now he looks ridiculous. You lost a fight you should have won because you got submitted it's not the first time it happened nor will it be the last. So next time you are interviewed don't be offended when asked about your jujitsu because its a major weakness of yours and also watch what you say because it can come back and haunt you when you are asked to clarify. You really dont have to talk all this trash to get a rematch you will get one irregardless based on you last fight with anderson have a good camp and let your fists to the talking.

Sounds like Silva is the one scare if he is the one asking to fight in a very un usual place to host a UFC , remember that UFC 134 was the second ever UFC event to be made in Brazil in the 18 years the UFC has been around.

Landsberg's show is called OTR = On The Record. It's format is that he tries to challenge people using quotes they've made in the past.
And he started doing that, but then got worried about how Chael was reacting. Best not to show fear in front of the mad dog.

I can see where Chael is coming from. I don't know if its fair to say he should have been more patient or not. He must have answered those same questions 1000 different ways to 1000 different media. Maybe Michael Lansberg was trying to ask on behalf of new casual fans given the recent Fox broadcast but then he should have at least introduced Chael, Anderson, the UFC and the situation much better. Maybe Michael went looking way too hard for some drama and got nailed. You can tell his ego took a hit.
I live in Toronto and unfortunately have had the displeasure of listening to Landsberg show on more than one occasion.

I find it funny that Sonnen has so much to say when he is running the show, but when someone else is asking the questions and directs the conversation into an area that puts him in an unfavorable light he acts like a little girl and storms off like a child. Chael, y ou cannot have it your way all of the time. Man up and do an interview wheather good or bad. You speak well and have a sharp mind so it should not be a problem to find diplomatic awnsers and turn the interview in your favor to get your point across. Landsberg was a complete tool but you let him make you look like a fool. I think it's time to quit talking and just start fighting man.

In retrospect after re watching the interview for the third time it was apparent that Landsberg had no other agenda than to be inflamitory and ask loaded questions in an attempt to get a good sound bite response. There was nothing impartial about that interview as any good journalist needs to be. There was a personal premeditated attempt to embarrass Sonnen. I'm suprised Chael stuck around as long as he actually did.
I still think Sonnen is gifted enough to make it work in his favor and flip the script on Landsberg however the most eggredgious comment came when he referred to the need for Chael to perhaps do some sit ups when his stomach was exposed while prepareing to leave.
