Carlos Condit will look to "end" Georges St. Pierre at UFC 137

"Different guys have different approaches to fighting. Georges (St. Pierre) steps in there with a very calculated gameplan – not taking a whole lot of risks, and he feels like he's safe in that approach. My approach to fighting is a little bit different. I don't feel that I'm safe in the cage until my opponent isn't moving anymore – until the ref waves his hands and says, 'Fight's over.' That's when I'm safe in the cage. My goal is to end my opponent...He's a man. He's a human. He's not invincible. He's not this machine that is untouchable. Other guys have proved that there are some weaknesses there. I've got to train hard and figure out how I can exploit that." - For more from Carlos Condit, visit MMAJunkie.com

With four consecutive decision victories over the course of his last four title defense, Welterweight Champion Georges St. is widely criticized for what many perceive as a safety first fighting style. And while Carlos Condit doesn't necessarily disagree with this opinion of the champ, "The Natural Born Killer" says he has his own safe approach inside the octagon - separating his opponents from consciousness.

Tabbed as a late replacement for former Strikeforce Champion Nick Diaz, Condit will head into his title clash against St. Pierre with 26 finishes in 27 victories. Perhaps an even more impressive statistic, however, is the fact that 13 of those have come by way of (T)KO, while the other 13 were via submission, making the Jackson's MMA product as versatile as he is dangerous. So what do you think LowKick'ers? Can the "Killer" known as Condit "end" GSP or is St. Pierre just getting started?

Good lad. This is the only way in my opinion that anyone can beat GSP. Give him time to think and he'll destroy you, swarm him and just maybe he might make a mistake

Condit better toughen up his eye sockets, I predict a few solid jabs to start the fight, Condit's going to see the power of GSP and he will change his gameplan.

Condit is the fighter to dethrone the Champ, but beating GSP is going to take a tough mental game, once he starts taking you down at will, stuffing your take downs, escaping your guard, your mental strength will be tested.

This fight sucks for me because GSP is my favorite fighter and Condit, well I've found a new love for the guy and how he fights. It's going to take a lot more than pushing forward to knock GSP out of Champion-status.

If GSP manages to stay Champion after this fight , there will be no man at Welterweight that will beat him, is all up to Condit he's the only one with the tools to do it, KO power in his hands , explosive , and if he gets taken down a very dangerous and active guard.

But i say Condit has the biggest chance standing up since he has more power and reach advantage he is very tall as well 6'1 or 6'2" i think, and it does sucks in a way because i also am big Fan of both guys! i always said that Carlos never got the respect he deserve since he was the WEC Champ

I'd also like to throw in there, Carlos is a big 170lber standing at about six-feet ish. If GSP can stop him convincingly and out point him, height shouldn't be a factor in the showdown fight between GSP and Silva. Silva is 6'2. So it's a good fight to analyze how well GSP does against a taller fighter.

Argh, my nuts shrank after I read this fight was happening.

The critics of GSP´s fighting style is stupid. He is the champ - why should he go out swinging like a neanderthal with the risk of getting caught? Sure its nice to see a good brawl - but to be honest I enjoy watching GSP´s brilliant technique for 25 min more than a 30 sec encounter between Leben and Wandy for instance.

100% agree but there's only so many times you can see it. It was awe inspiring against Fitch and Kos, but against Hardy and Shields it was repetitive, robotic and boring IMO. Problem is when GSP does it against guys who are dangerous (like Fitch) it's like watching a perfectly executed chess move. It's amazing. Against guys he could finish but doesn't (like Hardy or Jake Shields) it comes off as cold and mechanic. I like nothing better than to watch GSP completely neutralise dangerous fighters, but at some point he's gotta start putting some of the less dangerous ones away

You have to take GSP's mentality into consideration before making a judgement on his fight style. I consider him a General, looking down at the battlefield, calculating ways to win, devising foolproof ways to conquer his enemies.

Guys like Condit are catapults you send out to stop anything in its path. To combat a catapult, you attack its blind sides and come from places it can't see which is NOT straight ahead. GSP thinks like a tactician in that he finds ways to control you, dominate you and end up with the win.

He tries hard to finish you, but doesn't take exceptional risks for the sake of possibly losing the war.

Condit is a catapult that only aims to finish you at all times, leaving himself open to a smart attack, being overwhelmed and eventually stopped.

I love watching GSP fight. I recall the fight with Koscheck (second) when he started battering Koscheck's eye taking his ability to throw those overhands effectively and precisely. I screamed and everyone in the ROOM.

Can't wait for this fight. Diaz and Penn is going to be ****ing awesome too. The trash talking is going to be sexy. But I think Penn's going to gas and eventually be stopped.

As much of a beast that Condit is, I don't think he will bring out the win. If he does I think he is going to have to get the KO...... Kim style

going for Condit on this one, i like an underdog story.

I believe Condit's mental toughness and all round game will get him through to the victory.

I honestly feel like GSP vs. Condit and Diaz vs BJ is a better fight card. Call me crazy, but I think Condit deserves the shot more, is more of a threat, and a BJ/Diaz fight is just fuggin awesome (if a properly conditioned and focused BJ shows up).

Currently, Condit probably has the best chance of anyone at 170 to beat GSP. He's dangerous on both his feet and his back, and can take a punch.

Having said that, even though he might have the tools, Condit has never faced a fighter of GSP's caliber. He struggled at times with Kaupman and Ellenberger, and GSP is at a different level.

I could easily see these guys fighting 2 or 3 times. Condit is young enough that he might still be WW champ, but not before the learning experience he's about to get.
