I think it would affect if he used "God save the Queen" and have Koscheck sing it.

Ha! Team America! F##k I would be a switch to supportin Condit if he came in to that. Right now I really wanna see some more British fighters doing well, I felt bad after Ross Pearson, but humour's more important. "America F##K yeah!" would be great. Nah but the crowd's gonna have the "They took our joooobs" equivalent types Uk-wise...I don't think they'll see the funny side of comin in to the US national anthem, but they'll only boo, you don't really get hooligans at MMA events.

That would be epic. He should come out in yankee clothes back from the war too... then he should pretend shoot some redcoats to really rub it in

May not go down too well but most Brits basically think the Yanks were right in the W.O.I believe it or not so they might take the joke but as I said above the "Took urrr joobs" types might not understand the humour.

British humour surpasses any other country. Watch our classics like only fools and horses, or porridge, or red dwarf, or harry enfields and chums, or blackadder, or the office, or bottom, or the young ones or a zillion others i could mention. Most struggle with some of our humour it's so advanced, but we always get the rest of the worlds humour don't worry. We are the most sarcastic nation on the planet. Sonnen and Kos would be struck dumb if they came over hear and tried their smack talk as it'd be right back at em with hundreds and thousands on.

Yeah I am British mate and we can be very proud of our comedy, but where extreme local or national pride come into it, humour tends to fade. It's like this time I was watching Rovers play Villa at Ewood park and we were beating them 3 - 0, destroying them, so we starting singing "Are you Burnley in Disguise?" and I didn't see anyone laughing, in fact they were livid. Although it was in fact hilarious. Know what I mean mate?

Not sure why you got a bunch of weaks azzkika. I'd argue with you by comparing the comedies from America and the comedies from you Brits (English sarcasm is hard to beat for sure though). They're both right up there at the top (Holly Grail is ridiculously overrated though). And you're right about Brits and sarcasm. It's great.

Beside the point though. I don't think Condit is joking, and I don't think it's a matter of the English being able to take a joke. I would expect people in the UK to be appropriately respectful, as you'd expect the same courtesy. I'm sure MMA fans are more sophisticated than soccer fans anyway, it shouldn't be an issue, nobody is going to throw lit road flares or batteries at Carlos.

Does everyone think that when Fedor and Alex play the Russian anthem?

    Hate the USA much?

Didn't see your comment Hype. Of course you're completely right. Someone who takes issue with a fighter choosing their national anthem as their song, has really serious personal issues themselves. Screwed up priorities.

If Fedor comes in and wipes out the UFC, using God Save The Tsar as his walk-out music, nobody is going to boo him for it or look down at him for it.

Of course simple patriotism is only wrong when it's a patriotic American. Nobody complains about the anthem of any other nation being played.

Patriotism is a good thing. It's a good thing that Hardy has pride in representing the English, and it's a good thing that Georges is proud to be a French Canadian. Patriotism makes people strive harder and want to do and be better. It's positive.

He's not insulting the English, you simply choose to look at it negatively. Fans tend to root for the home team, and there's nothing wrong with the fact that the English will be rooting for their English fighter to beat the American fighter. Americans are always respectful during another country's national anthem being played. While our hockey teams get boo'd during our anthem in Canada for instance.

Good call... And Randy "Captain America" Couture. Brazilian fighters are waving their flag and cheering the supremacy of Brazil all the time. Mexican fighters. Japanese fighters. All very patriotic. There's never any criticism of it, nor should there be. It makes the sport better and more watchable.

After the fight if Condit wins he should do the Rock 4 speech. "I seen a lot of people hate'n me, and I guess I didn't like you all too much none either, but if you can change, and I can change . . .".
