I don't think that loss against chael tarnishes his record that much. He is still one of the best power punchers in the middleweight division and has a solid chin as well.
I dont like American fighters that much ( they think they are superior to russians ,because Focking Stallone made russians look bad in Rocky 4)
I also dislike Stann's nickname "all american".
But Brian Stann really speaks well and gives a good image to the sport.

While your Russian comment is either a good joke or a silly opinion, I definitely agree with your "All American" comment.
I've always thought it to be quite strange Stann's nickname is All-American. Fair enough he is a war hero but surely a cliche name like Brian "The Marine" Stann would be more fitting.
I just feel someone like Johnny Hendricks, Ben Askren or Josh Koscheck who are multiple times NCAA All-American wrestlers deserve Brian's nickname more than him and would suit it better.
It just surprises me often that a long gone movie like Rocky 4 is remembered by Russians, but Americans couldnt even tell you which number film that was. We were also smart enough to know Dolph would have killed Stallone in real life lol.
I dunno about you but everyone I know who has seen the Rocky films knows it was the fourth one, the best one, were it's the fight against Ivan Drago. Maybe it's more popular in Scotland, I doubt it, as most people over here know which one it is.

I think people forget how well Brian Stann was doing before he got manhandled, a lot of people were actually thinking he was going to KO Sonnen. Sonnen was the favourite but a lot of people expected Stann do do good against him.
I know Brian's still around but I just think he'll always be held back by lack of grappling skills and he doesn't have the stand up to contest with elite strikers like Andy and Vitor (IMO).
Anyway good luck to Brian, ALWAYS a class act.
