BlogKick: Why Team Jackson is the best team in MMA
Posted on January 27, 2011, 12:46 PM by bluntsandbeersWith rapid evolution in the sport of mixed martial arts fighters have to search for every advantage that is available to them. Whether it be shedding those extra 15 pounds, changing their diets, or traveling to a new camp, fighters are willing to do just about anything to gain the competitive edge. But the most important thing in a fighters preparation is where he trains, And now a days there is no better place to train then Jackson’s Submission fighting.
It all started in 1992 when Greg Jackson developed his own style of fighting called “Gaidojutsu”. Gaidojutsu was originally a combination of high level wrestling and basic judo locks, but as he started to train more and more MMA fighters, his style adapted techniques from Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Boxing, and Kickboxing.
Aside from having a brilliant mind for strategy, Greg Jackson has a great understanding of MMA fighting styles. He has been studying Martial Arts for over two decades and he has the ability to prepare his fighters for anything. He claims that talent is not as hard to find as people think and it’s actually about mental attitude and strategy execution. That’s may be a unique way of thinking, but he certainly isn’t wrong. Sherdog.com reports that Team Jackson has an 81% win rate. That is unparalleled in the world of Mixed Martial Arts.
Last but not least Greg Jackson has the ability to evolve almost any fighter he gets his hands on. A more recent example is the way Melvin Guillard and Clay Guida have changed. Since moving to Team Jackson the change these fighters have undergone this past year is incredible. Both fighters went undefeated in 2010 and have strung together three straight victories.
If that’s not enough to convince you, take a look at the Credentials of all the other Team Jackson Products.

No doubt in my mind that this is the best gym. Greg always makes strategies to WIN. Not always the funnest to watch but a win is a win.
For me the best gym is Black house they have Anderson, Nog bro's, Aldo, Jacare, Feijao, Dos Santos, Machida, Filho, Paulo Thiago, Mark Munoz, Pedro Rizzo, Wagney Fabiano and Diego Nunes....they also have 4 champs and 3 former champs and Dos Santos is the number one contender
easily the best gym before anyone says it black house is not a gym(although the do have a gym) in the sense jackson's is. it is really just a management company they all train at their own individual gym
Well it says TEAM not GYM in the title, so arguably Blackhouse is just as good and has more top teir fighters emerge from their team. As far as GYM sure Greg has it all in one but Blackhouse has more exciting dominant and consistant champ material being brought forth. Jackson has had 5 champs current and former with only GSP currently holding a spot while Blackhouse has had 7 former and current champs in MMA with 4 being current champs. As far as teams go Blackhouse is more dominant.
correction, Tom Watson is one I missed so that gives jackson 2 current champs in MMA but BAMMA is hardly comparable to the current strikeforce and UFC champs that Blackhouse has.
There are 3 blackhouse gyms and 2 training centers for jackson fighters. new mexico and denver are the locations.
Ya I can remember when Jacksons consisted of Diego and Jardine... really that was about it. Crazy how his gym has grown.
Shae Carwin- Former UFC Heavyweight champion!!!!
some of those guys arent even there the whole time. Like Arlovski and Kenflo, they just stop by to train sometimes. Personally i think AKA is the top dog
1. Greg Jackson
2. Black House
3 Xtreme Couture
I would say:
1.Blackhouse by statistics and skill
2.Greg Jackson for turnaround ability and heart
3.Xtreme Couture to be battlehardened and sneaky
from the perspective of a fighter looking for a place to train, unfortunately blackhouse would be a very frustrating team if you wern't multi-lingual..
between aka/jackson the potential for sparring partners is great in both, so you ask where you would be most comfortable, personally i couldn't train in the same place as koscheck/fitch etc. without wanting to smash their faces.
