Former WEC Lightweight Champion Ben Henderson looked back at victory over Jim Miller in the co-main event of UFC on Versus 5. Henderson now finds himself in the mix for a shot at the UFC Lightweight title, after what was so far the biggest victory of his Mixed Martial Arts career. "Bendo" improved his MMA record 14-2, currently 2-0 in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

yeah it will show us how rounded Melvin is. I've gotta say though, seeing as Bendo sets up a lot of what he does with strikes I don't like his chances. Melvin is the number one striker in the division by a mile and future long time champ IMO

    Bendo vs Guida

since Guida thinks hes the No.1 contender

and Bendo just beat the guy that was next in line

Imagine the pace of that fight , and all that hair in the cage lol

Bendo vs Guida is the perfect fight , winner gets a title fight.

Melvin Guillard would be the only fighter, in my opinion, with a legitimate chance at beating Ben Henderson in the LW division if they decided to stand and bang. Also, Pettis may have shot at beating him since they've already fought, but let's not forget how close that fight really was up until Pettis landed " The showtime kick." Without the kick, that fight could have gone either way. That being said, If Ben and Pettis fight a second time around, Ben will probably win.

There should be an interim belt fight. All this waiting for Maynard and Edgar to heal up is ridiculous. The division is stacked with hungry fighters and we are forced to sit here and wait for Maynard and Edgar to unbunch their panties so they can fight again.

That makes no sense. A GRANDPRIX IS THE ANSWER

Dude that makes no sense whatsoever... the title bout between Edgar and Maynard is already set, so what are you talking about? Also Edgar has only been out for a few months, there is no way the UFC would even consider an interim bout that's disrespectful to the champ to say the least. Injuries are part of the sport and a champ deserves the time to heal and prepare for the next war.

Have to agree with you on this one.

If that were the case, might as well crown Maynard Interim champ. That just does not compute. I could see if Edgar broke a leg or something, but there is no reason for that. A grandprix to find the next contender, perhaps

So, instead of waiting for Edgar/Maynard, since there are so many lightweights, have them keep fighting eachother. No harm in that. No reason for an interim belt. Why? When we have all these lightweights? Have them all fight eachother, while waiting. Very simple..

I think if a belt goes 6 months undefended for whatever reason it should be relinquished. If Edgar was injured he gets the next available shot at the belt when he is fit to return. if his opponent pulls out injured he takes another opponent.

Belts should be defended 3 times a year IMO not once or twice and especially when there is so much depth to a division such as the LW division which is insane at the moment.

I picked Bendo for the win but i thought he would just edge out a decision, i didn't expect him to thrash the pants off him like that. Bendo is a stud for sure though and looked better than ever in this fight. I like Miller too but he'll come back hard i'm sure. I reckon Bendo vs Guillard would be a good contender ranking fight, the winner maybe taking on the winner of the Edgar vs Maynard fight, when it finally happens. The wait for their fight is causing quite a back log in the LW division, i'm suprised they didn't introduce an interim belt or something just to keep the traffic flowing, but hey, it is what it is. Fair play to Bendo, he made quite a statement beating Miller like that, can't wait to see what's next for him now.......

What I like most about Henderson's win is the fact that this makes his 2nd in the UFC. Pettis has only a loss on his resume. Henderson vs Pettis II would be nice, but should not happen. Pettis still must prove he belongs, just like Henderson has already proven. Henderson vs Guida would be nice and probably the next fight.

Miller should fight Pettis and I bet Miller wins. He was gasping for breath in the first round, so I have no idea what Henderson did, but it worked.

I like Melvin but if Ben takes him down, it's a wrap. He had Jim looking desperate & helpless.

Bendo vs Guida in a battle of cardio & hair!

Ben looked even better than usual last nite.I agree this weight division is stacked with talent,a lot of exciting fighters! I'm sorry but for my taste Edgar is not one of them. His running man act is not impressive and I can't wait for one of these guys to kick his ass.I don't care if it's Ben,Melvin or Cowboy.Any of these guys is more exciting to watch.

I'd love to see Henderson and Guida fight. The most intriguing, though, is Melvin Guillard.

"Showtime" Pettis vs Cowboy Cerrone = Pettis

Clay Guida vs Ben Henderson = Guida

Jim Miller vs Melvin Guillard = Guillard

    Egar vs Maynard = Edgar

Ultimately I see it being Guida vs Edgar for the title once this is all worked out

Guillard vs Henderson .. would either be the best fight in the world or over in 30 seconds.

Guillard just looks like he is in total control in the ring now.
