Belcher withdraws from UFN 22, new main event

While in Brazil training, Alan Belcher suffered loss of vision in his right eye. He had to undergo surgery in Alabama. He tweeted on his Twitter account, " My friend/surgeon from Biloxi has scheduled an emergency surgery in Alabama," he wrote solemnly. ""No contact for 6 weeks. Sorry to my trainers. Sorry to UFC & Demian Maia, I know he has been training specifically for me. Sorry to my fans as well. As long as I get released from (the) doctor, I will try to make UFN 22 to see my fans and watch the fights."

Nate Marquardt and Rousimar Palhares or expected to step in for the main event. the fight was expected to take place at UFC 118 but was rescheduled.
