Antonio Silva: Alistair Overeem turns from a lion into a kitty when he gets hit

"A fight is a fight and anything can happen. They're two very strong fighters, they're at the top of their division but I don't see how Overeem can beat Junior dos Santos. Overeem is (beating a lot of people), he's a lion, but when (he gets hit) he becomes a kitty. When Junior first connects, Overeem's spirit of a fighter will go to the dress room. I think it will be Junior with another knockout in his career." - For more from Antonio Silva, visit Portal do Vale Tudo (transcription via BloodyElbow.com)

Alistair Overeem is a beast - as long as he doesn't get hit.

At least, that's Antonio Silva's take on the Dutchman. According to "Bigfoot," Overeem goes from king of the jungle to purring pussycat anytime he takes one on the chin. Which is why Silva says he can't envision the former Strikeforce champ surviving the hands of his training partner, Junior dos Santos.

Unbeaten since 2007, dos Santos scored his tenth career knockout victory when he dethroned Cain Velasquez back in November. Now set to make his first title defense against Overeem at UFC 146, he'll look to add to that list of victims by handing "The Reem" his first defeat due to strikes in nearly five years. But, what do you think LowKick'ers? Can JDS tame the beast that is Overeem, or will the Brazilian fall prey to "The Demolition Man?"

I believe that Overeem will be looking to use kicks from the outside and clinch while looking for a choke or a knee as Jr comes forward. Can't wait for this one!

    Antonio who?

Last time i checked he was knocked out by a wrestler.

Overeem and Junior is a tough call to make, but i see a first round KO for Overeem.

A Brazilian picking in favor of a Brazilian. Big surprise. They never do that.

Bigfoot looked like a dwarf when he fought Cormier. He curled up when he got hit.

    Overeem wins by animality. :)

Antonio, really? You turn from conscious to unconscious when you get hit.

well its been like 5 years since Overeem has cowered from strikes. People still think Overeem is the same fighter from back then....is he not allowed to get better and improve?

Overeem doesnt like being hit thats why he throws single shots and never throws any combinations he's a great fighter all the same but as much as i like him if he dont connect first on JDS he will get kod.

Of course he doesnt like being hit, nobody does. That's why he is fighting much smarter and its been working for him.

I do agree though that Dos Santos's striking and KO power is a huge threat .....also works vice versa

Best heavyweight boxer vs best heavyweight kickboxer. But overeem has a huge strength advantage. Overeem will most likely ground and pound his much smaller opponent

People said the same about Carwin. Junior had no problem with Carwins size.

Big difference. Carwin had no chance on the feet. Overeem is just a little (sarcasm) better than carwin standing also look at overeems sub record
