UFC Vice President Craig Borsari made the announcement at the UFC 125 post-fight press conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. UFC President Dana White did not attend the press conference. UFC 125 took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Next UFC event will be Fight for the Troops 2, which will be headlined by a Lightweight fight between Melvin Guillard and Evan Dunham.

As much as I want to see Pettis fight, This title fight deserves a rematch first Maynard has a win over the champion already, and this fight was a draw, he is still the number 1 contender.

seems Edgar is always the underdog. I dunno what he has to get some respect.

I usually dont disagree with you but I think that if Maynard and Edgar went to a draw why should Maynard have to work his way back up because he fought just as good as the Champ and just IMO he was just a tad bit better than the Champ..... i think it should go vacant and have tourney style kinda like Bellator just to make it interesting!

I think Maynard should get the winner of Edgar - Pettis, job done. See how Frankie is next week health wise, and table in Edgar - Pettis asap if he's recovered from the fight.

after watchin his demeanor after his SELF inflicted KO against Rob Emerson and the way he reacted after the decision, he sounded like a (iono how else to say it) a little bitch....

I got a ton of respect for Maynard. Initially after the fight I thought he acted like a spoilt brat, but then seeing Edgar crying I am pretty sure they were both just very frustrated having both put in so much effort and such great performances.

Well it doesn't really matter that is was a draw...Pettis was going to get a shot against the champ after this fight...and the champ is: Frankie Edgar, therefore it makes sense for Pettis vs Edgar...

I also agree with the statements of Maynard facing Henderson, makes sense...Sots good too
